Happy Birthday

Short Description: A reminder to be thankful for the gift of life and for God's love. He has a plan for each of us.

Full Text: It's good at least once a year to celebrate the day of your birth--to be glad that you were born. It's a time to put aside your worries and cares and thank God for the opportunity to be alive.

For a moment don't think about what the ideal birthday should be or about being another year older. Thank God for the gift of life.

God knew you and loved you even before you were born. The psalmist David wrote, "You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:13-14).

You are a unique creation with God-given gifts and abilities. You may not be fully satisfied with yourself now, but with God's help you can become more of what He meant you to be.

God has opportunities for you far greater than you could imagine: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'" (Jeremiah 29:11). That is why Jesus Christ came. He said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

So get on with living! Don't worry about being another year older. If you're trusting in Jesus, you have from now through eternity to enjoy God's blessings.
