We Have Lost Our Way
"We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way" (Isaiah 53:6). • "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12) • "Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins" (James 4:17). • "All of us have become like one who is unclean" (Isaiah 64:6).Despite our best efforts we are unable to remove the guilt that separates us from a holy God.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). • "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). • "Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" (Hebrews 9:27).
God Has Opened a Way
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). • "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). • "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (1 Peter 3:18).
The way is open. The choice is yours.
Your Part
- Recognize that your sin separates you from a holy God.
- Realize that God loves you and believe that Jesus Christ died for you and rose again from the grave.
- Receive Jesus into your life by faith.
You can pray to God something like this: "Thank You that You sent Your Son to die for me. I know that without Him I would be separated from You forever by my sins. I invite Him into my life to be my Savior."
How to Grow as a Christian
- Read the Bible to learn more about God and His principles for living.
- Attend a Bible-believing church where you can grow spiritually and worship God.
- Turn from what the Bible calls sin.
- Pray to God often to share your joys and problems and to confess your sins.
- Tell others about your Savior.
