Psalm 124:8
“Sự tiếp trợ chúng ta ở trong danh Đức Giê-hô-va, là Đấng đã dựng nên trời và đất.”
(Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.)
> When I lived in Florida, I used to take care for my niece – my brother’s daughter. (Khi còn sống ở tiểu bang Florida, tôi ở chung với người anh cả, và phải chăm sóc đứa cháu gái.)
> I remembered when she was a baby, about 1-3 years old, she had a blanket… that she carried with her everywhere she went. (Tôi nhớ khi cháu còn khoãng 1-3 tuổi thì nó có một cái mền… mà nó cầm theo lê lết khắp nơi nó đi.)
> For some reason that blanket helped her to feel safe and comfort. (Không hiểu tại sao, nhưng cái mền đó giúp cháu có sự an tâm.)
> When she had a tough time to sleep, the only things she wanted were a milk bottle… and her blanket, then she would stop crying. (Mỗi khi nó bị khó nghủ, nếu chỉ đưa cho nó một bình sữa… và cái mền đó, là nó ngừng khóc ngay.)
> With that blanket, many nights she could sleep better, because somehow she felt secured with it. That’s why many parents often call it - “the security blanket” for their kids. (Với cái mền này, nhiều lần nó nghủ được yên giấc, cảm thấy an toàn; vì vậy mà nhiều cha mẹ có đặt cái tên là “chiếc mền an ninh” cho con cái mình.)
> This morning, I want to ask you – where is your security blanket? (Sáng nay tôi muốn hỏi các bạn – “Cái mền an ninh” của bạn ở đâu?)
> Don’t you know that one of the biggest issues in our life today is insecurity. (Một trong những nan đề lớn nhất trong cuộc sống ngày hôm nay của c/ta chính là sự bất an ninh.)
> The truth is this – our life is full of worries, doubts, and fears… and it is not easy to find “a blanket” that can cover all of these problems and give us peace. (Lẽ thật đó là trong cuộc sống của c/ta có đầy những lo lắng, nghi ngờ, buồn phiền và sợ hãi… khó có thể nào tìm được một “cái mền” mà có thể giải quyết được hết những nan đề này, và ban cho c/ta sự bình an.)
I. Insecure World
> You know, we are living in a society which becomes more and more insecure each day? (Bạn có biết là c/ta đang sống trong một xã hội mà càng ngày càng bất an ninh hơn không?)
a) Not just the faraway wars in the Middle East or the conflicts between Vietnam and China, but right here in our homeland – the worry of terrorists can happen any day and anywhere without a warning alarm. (Không phải chỉ những tin tức chiến tranh ở xa như bên Trung Đông, hay sự tranh chiến xáo trộn Việt-nam và Trung Hoa, nhưng ngay tại đất nước của c/ta, với nan đề khủng bố phá hoại, mà có thể xảy ra bất cứ khi nào, bất cứ chỗ nào mà không loan báo trước.)
> This new enemy does not fight fair. They do not even have a country. Our military is not their only target, but also innocent civilians. (Kẻ thù này đánh trận môt cách rình rập, dùng máy bay, mã tấu, súng ống và bây giờ xe hơi nữa, không chỉ nhắm đến quân sự thôi, nhưng kể cả những người dân vô tội.)
# When we flew to Seatlle last week for vacation, and when we came into the New Orleans airport and started boarding the first flight, my first thought was “Is there any terrorist on this plane?” (Mấy tuần trước đây, c/tôi đi nghỉ mát, khi vào đến phi trường NO và sắp sửa lên máy bay, tôi chợt có ý nghĩa là không biết có anh khủng bố nào đi cùng máy bay này không?)
# The waiting line gets longer for screening; but I always have a doubt if those metals’ detectors do their job to screen out all potential terrorism… so that we can have a peace of mind to travel? (Đợi hàng dài nhìn những người ta phải đi qua những cái máy dò kim loại, tôi tự nghĩ không biết những cái máy này có làm việc tốt không… hay là để ai lọt vũ khí qua được chăng?)
b) What’s about the gun control, crime and racism issues that are spreaded at rampant rate in our country? (Còn nan đề xử dụng súng ống bừa bãi, tội ác và kỳ thị chủng tộc thì sao, đang tràn lan ra khắp thế giới?)
# These issues are not just in Dallas, Texas or Ferguson, Missouri… but it has spreaded to our city, right here in Baton Rouge, on Airline hwy where we travel almost everyday. (Nan đề này không còn ở xa như bên Texas hay Missouri nữa, nhưng đã đến chính thành phố của c/ta.)
> When will the next “sniper” hay police shooting incident happen again? (Không biết khi nào một vụ bắn súng tẻ sẽ xảy ra nữa đây?)
c) Job security is another and big worry for many people today. (Còn kinh tế và công ăn việc làm của c/ta có sẽ an toàn không trong những năm tới?)
# Two years ago, my company remodeled all the buildings to have more offices with a big expansion plan. Last year, the oil prices stumble; we lost many projects and had to laid off 7 people so far.
(Khoãng 2 năm trước đây, công ti của tôi có chương trình lớn sửa chữa địa ốc để có thêm phòng ốc cho nhiều nhân viên hơn; đùng một cái gía dầu hỏa xuống dốc, đến nay hãng đã phải cho 7 người nghỉ việc.)
> We now have doubt if our government can help to prevent an economic depression? (C/ta luôn nghi ngờ không biết chính phủ Mỹ có thể ngăn chận vấn đề kinh tế bị khủng hoảng không?)
> I often doubt if the banks will protect our money assets… if something big happens? (Tôi nghi ngờ không biết những nhà bank có thể giữ tiền của mình trong các ngân hàng không, nếu có chuyện gì lớn xảy ra?)
d) Those who are waiting to retire have fear that the social security funding managed by our government may be run out soon. (Những ai trong c/ta sửa soạn về hưu thì cũng đang lo lắng không biết ngân quỹ SS do chính phủ chăm giữ, có còn nữa không khi mình về hưu?)
> For sure, many people today cannot totally depend on social security in the future retirement based on the projected short comings of the current national deficit of over 500 billion dollars. (Vô số người biết rõ mình không thể lệ thuộc vào ngân quỹ SS về hưu để sống trong tương lai được, với cái đà số tiền thiếu hụt của đất nước này đã lên trên 500 tỉ đôla rồi.)
> Do you think we live in a secure world? If you don’t… you’re not alone. (Bạn có nghĩ mình đang sống trong sự an ninh không? Nếu không, thì bạn không chỉ là người nghĩ như vậy thôi.)
> We have many reasons to feel insecured these days. (C/ta có rõ nhiều lý do để cảm thấy rõ cuộc sống này không mấy là an ninh.)
> Anything can happen, and the worse is that not good things, but more the chance of something terrible is about to happen. (Bất cứ chuyện gì có thể xảy ra, c/ta không canh giữ được, nhất là những chuyện xấu hay tội ác thì xảy ra dễ dàng, không cản được.)
# The story is told of a monastery in Portugal perched high on a 3,000 foot cliff accessible only by a terrifying ride in a swaying basket. (Có câu chuyện của một tu viện ở nước Bồ đào Nha, được xây trên một vách đá cao hơn 3,000 feet, chỉ có cách lên đó thì phải bằng một cái thúng lắc lư mà thôi.)
> The basket is pulled with a single rope by several strong men, sweating under the strain. (Cái thúng thì được buộc bởi một sợi giây thừng và kéo lên bởi những người đàn ông tu trên đó.)
> One American tourist who visited the site got nervous halfway up the cliff when he noticed that the rope was old and frayed. (Một vị du khách người Mỹ đứng trong cái thúng khi đang được kéo lên và thấy sợi giây thừng cũ và bị cọ sờn nhiều chỗ thì hơi lo lắng.)
> Hoping to relieve his fear he asked, “How often do you change the rope?” (Ông muốn trấn an nên hỏi: “Khi nào thì quí vị thường hay thay chiếc giây thừng này?”)
> The monk in charge replied, “Whenever it breaks!” (Một nhà sư trong thúng trả lời: “Khi nào nó đứt giây thì c/tôi thay.)
> Well, in this life many of the things people turn to for security I feel like one of those old and fraying ropes… and they are just waiting for it to break. (Cuộc sống c/ta cũng vậy, vô số người đang tìm kiếm sự an ninh trong những chỗ có “sợi giây thừng” cũ và bị cọ sờn này, mà không biết khi nào sẽ đứt đây?)
II. Source of Help
> So what can we do to deal with these doubts, worries and fears? (Như vậy c/ta cần làm gì để đối diện với sự nghi vực, lo lắng và sợ hãi trong đời sống đây?)
> Do you have anything in life… that you can run to, in order to find comfort and security? (Bạn có chỗ nào để tìm được nguồn an ninh cho mình không?)
a) Well, we can just ignore them. (Thứ nhất, c/ta có thể cứ phớt lơ những nan đề này.)
> But this does not get rid of them; they could come suddenly and we will be regretted that we do not have any plan to cope with. (Nhưng nó có biến mất không… hay là khi nó đến bất thình lình thì c/ta sẽ hối tiếc vì đã không chuẩn bị chi hết.)
b) We can deal with them on our own strength. (C/ta cũng có thể dùng sức mình để đối phó?)
> But these problems are liked “ghosts,” we cannot see them or do not know when they will happen. (Nhưng những nan đề này giống như những “bóng ma,” c/ta không thể thấy được nó, và không biết khi nào nó sẽ xảy ra… thì làm chi được đây dù cho c/ta có là “superman” đi nữa?)
> We must find a Source of help… that should have the following basic conditions: (C/ta phải tìm kiếm và nương cậy vào một Nguồn, có thể giúp đỡ mình được với những điều căn bản sau đây:)
a) First, the Source must be greater than our enemies… and has the power to see our problems, our future to provide solutions. (Nguồn tiếp trợ c/ta phải là Đấng mạnh hơn những kẻ thù của mình, thấy được trở ngại, thấy trước được tương lai, và có thể có câu trả lời cho những nan đề của mình.)
# Many people in this world want to help us, but they can’t even help themselves. (Nhiều người muốn giúp c/ta, nhưng họ chưa giúp đỡ gì cho chính mình, còn đầy những nan đề của riêng họ, thì làm sao đây?)
b) Not just having the ability and strength to help, but the Source must be willing to help us. (Không phải chỉ có khả năng tiếp trợ, nhưng người đó phải bằng lòng muốn giúp đỡ c/ta.)
# If someone has the ability to help us with these issues, but he is not willing to carry us through, then it is kind of useless for us. (Nếu không thì khả năng họ có… cũng vô ích cho c/ta mà thôi.)
c) And the last thing is that… the Source helps us would not require a price that we cannot afford. (Và điều căn bản nữa là Nguồn trợ giúp c/ta sẽ phải không đòi hỏi một gía nào hết, mà mình không thể trả nổi.)
# The world has many possible solutions to solve our life issues, but many of these choices require a price too high that we cannot pay for. (Thế gian hình như có rất nhiều những câu trả lời, nhưng có khi những giải pháp này đòi hỏi một gía cả, mà c/ta không thể trả nổi.)
> It seems to be impossible to find a Source… that can satisfy all these conditions above… because as human, we all have flaws, limitations, weakness, and no one can see the future. (C/ta hình như không thể tìm được một Nguồn trợ giúp nào được, vì con người thì thiếu xót, có giới hạn, yếu đuối và không một ai có thể thấy trước được tương lai.)
> But the goodnews is that… we have a great and good God described in the Bible… Who we can give us all the help we need. (Nhưng sáng nay có một tin tức tốt lành… về một Đấng lớn có nói đến trong Kinh Thánh, Ngài có thể tiếp trợ c/ta trong mọi nan đề.)
# In Psalm 124:8 – David declared - “Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Tác gỉa Thi Thiên trong đoạn 124 nói – “Sự tiếp trợ chúng ta ở trong danh Đức Giê-hô-va, Là Đấng đã dựng nên trời và đất.”)
1) The psalmist reminded us that God (our Source of help) is great… and there is no impossible things… that He cannot do. (Tác gỉa Thi Thiên nhắc c/ta có một Đấng rất lớn, mà không có gì Chúa không làm được.)
> In Matthew 19:26 - Jesus said “… with God all things are possible,” because He is the God Almighty. (Chính Chúa Giê-xu đã phán – “… Đức Chúa Trời làm mọi việc đều được.”)
> God’s greatness and strength are demonstrated by His creation of heaven and earth. (Quyền năng vô hạn của Ngài được bày tỏ qua sự sáng tạo của trời và đất.)
# The vacation trip to Seatle và Vancouver, we were able to do some site seeings of mountains, seas, springs, and waterfall… they are so amazing and gigantic. (Khi đi nghỉ mát ở Seatle, c/tôi có cơ hội đi xem những ngọn núi khổng lồ, vĩ đại, bờ biển, suối và những thác nước.)
> We viewed one of the famous mountains, called Rainier, still covered with a lot of snow on top. The snow melt creates a strong water spring and beautiful waterfalls. (C/tôi được viếng xem một núi nổi tiếng có tên là Rainier, mà trên ngọn còn đầy tuyết, và tuyết chảy thành những con suối lớn và thác nước chảy suốt ngày và đêm.)
> We hiked only for about 50 feet elevation to have picnic… and I felt liked I had a heart attack. (Có lần c/tôi đi bộ lên núi picnic, chỉ có khoãng 50’ chiều cao thôi mà đã thở hổn hển.)
# All the creations from little bugs, birds, snow, and trees that God has created and cared for them. (Sự sáng tạo vĩ đại của Chúa từ những con bọ, con chim, tuyết trắng, cây cối… mà Ngài dựng nên và chăm sóc mỗi ngày từ sáng đến tối.)
> I wanted to get to the mountain top to sing and shout - “How Great Thou Art!” (Tôi nhìn núi non hùng vĩ và ước gì được trèo lên đến tận ngọn… mà lớn tiếng ca ngợi Chúa bài hát “Lớn Bấy duy Ngài.”)
> So when you doubt God, look up and see His creation. (Cho nên khi nào bạn có sự nghi ngờ trong lòng, hãy nhìn lên và thấy sự sáng tạo bày tỏ quyền năng lạ lùng của Ngài là Đấng có thể giúp đỡ c/ta.)
> Do not focus on your problems, but focus on the great God… Who can help. (Đừng chú tâm đến những nan đề của cuộc sống này, nhưng hãy chú tâm đến Đấng Sáng Tạo đầy quyền năng.)
> God is not just unlimited in His power, but He can see our future and prepares our ways… so that we can avoid troubles and dangers, but ready for His blessings. (Đức Chúa Trời không chỉ có quyền năng vô hạn thôi, nhưng Ngài còn thấy tương lai và sửa soạn mọi lối đi của c/ta, để tránh những nguy hiểm, mà còn được phước nữa.)
# Last week, coming back from vacation, my dad was sick that makes me really worried; at the same time my mom was admitted to ER; but I trusted God will help and supply a solution. (Tuần trước sau khi đi nghỉ mát về thì ba tôi bị đau nặng, cùng một lúc tôi phải đưa má tôi vào nhà thương cứu cấp, nhưng trong lòng tôi luôn tin cậy rằng Chúa sẽ tiếp trợ.)
> Well, they kept my mom in the hospital for 6 days; There were doctors and nurses cared for her 24/7 days and nights, to relieve some of my burdens to care for my dad. (Nhà thương giữ má tôi trong bệnh viện chăm sóc kỹ càng suốt ngày đêm, để ba tôi cùng một lúc được nghỉ ngơi.)
> Isn’t God good? (Không phải Chúa là Đấng tốt lành và thấy tương lai của c/ta sao?)
> There is nothing can surprise God, even things in the future… because “I know my God… Who holds our Tomorrow.” (Không có điều gì sẽ xảy ra mà làm Chúa ngạc nhiên hết, bởi vì “tôi biết Đấng giữ tương lai mình.”)
2) God is not just great… but He is loving; He is more readily to help and to bless us. (Chúa không chỉ rất lớn, nhưng Ngài đầy lòng yêu thương và luôn sẵn sàng giúp đỡ mỗi c/ta.)
# In Psalm 46:1-2/7 – “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging… 7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” (Tác gỉa Thi Thiên 46 nói; “Đức Chúa Trời là nơi nương náu và sức lực của chúng tôi, Ngài sẵn giúp đỡ trong cơn gian truân. 2 Vì vậy, chúng tôi chẳng sợ dầu đất bị biến cải, Núi lay động và bị quăng vào lòng biển... 7 Đức Giê-hô-va vạn quân ở cùng chúng tôi; Đức Chúa Trời Gia-cốp là nơi nương náu của chúng tôi.”)
> God promises to help us, and He is always available. (Chúa hứa sẽ giúp đỡ c/ta vì Ngài luôn sẵn sàng.)
> He is not busy because He does not work; God does not rest, or sleep; You don’t have to send Him an e-mail or a text to wait for his reply; That is not the problem, but the problem is that do we know His promises, believe and claim them? (Chúa không có bận rộn vì Ngài đâu có đi làm, Ngài không có nghủ; bạn không cần phải gởi e-mail hay text đến cho Chúa và đợi Ngài trả lời; đó không phải là vấn đề, nhưng là c/ta có biết lời hứa của Chúa, tin cậy Ngài và nhận sự tiếp trợ không?)
# In Psalm 91:1-4 – “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (Thi Thiên 91 nhắc lời hứa của Chúa như sau: “Người nào ở nơi kín đáo của Đấng Chí cao, Sẽ được hằng ở dưới bóng của Đấng Toàn năng. 2 Tôi nói về Đức Giê-hô-va rằng: Ngài là nơi nương náu tôi, và là đồn lũy tôi; Cũng là Đức Chúa Trời tôi, tôi tin cậy nơi Ngài. 3 Ngài sẽ giải cứu ngươi khỏi bẫy chim, Và khỏi dịch lệ độc-hại. 4 Ngài sẽ lấy lông Ngài mà che chở ngươi, Và dưới cánh Ngài, ngươi sẽ được nương náu mình; Sự chân thật Ngài là cái khiên và cái can của ngươi.”)
> God even promises to be with us always because we belong to Him; we will never be out of His sight. (Chúa còn hứa sẽ luôn ở bên cạnh mỗi c/ta, vì c/ta thuộc của Ngài trong Cứu Chúa Giê-xu.)
# In Deuteronomy 31:6 God promised to His people – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Trong PTLLK 31:6 - “Hãy vững lòng bền chí; chớ sợ chi và chớ kinh khủng trước mặt các dân đó; vì Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời ngươi đi cùng ngươi; Ngài chẳng lìa khỏi ngươi, chẳng từ bỏ ngươi đâu.”)
# In Matthew 28:20b Jesus promised to His church – “… And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Chính Chúa Giê-xu đã hứa – “… Và nầy, ta thường ở cùng các ngươi luôn cho đến tận thế.”)
> God is not a mere man, or a politician of NOT keeping His promises, but He is a faithful One. (Chúa không phải là người tầm thường hay một nhà chính trị gia, mà không giữ lời Ngài hứa, nhưng là Đấng Thành Tín.)
# His faithfulness to His promises was showed through the history of the Jewish nation to bring them into the promised land. (Sự thành tín của Chúa bày tỏ qua lời hứa ban cho dân sự Ngài đất hứa.)
# His faithfulness to His promises was demonstrated by the incarnation (birth), death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ to provide the world salvation. (Sự thành tín của Chúa bày tỏ qua sự ban cho chính Con Ngài giáng thế, chịu chết và sống lại để cung cấp sự sống đời đời cho mọi kẻ tin.)
> So when you are in fear, open the book and claim His promises… then you will see how wonderful God can comfort and give us hope to overcome all kinds of life problems. (Cho nên khi bạn lo sợ thì hãy mở Kinh Thánh ra và nhận những lời hứa của Chúa… để thấy sự lạ lùng của Ngài ban cho sự hy vọng và bình an, vượt khỏi mọi nan đề trong cuộc sống này.)
3) God is readily to help without any costs. (Chúa sẵn sàng giúp đỡ mà không đòi gía.)
> He gives grace freely through His Son. (Ngài ban cho sự cứu chuộc không đòi gía, qua chính Con mình.)
# There is no cost for grace; the only problem is our hardened heart to receive. (Chỉ có cái là tấm lòng cứng cõi của nhiều người chưa nhận lấy mà thôi.)
> His Son gives the Holy Spirit freely Who dwells in each of us without any cost. The only problem is whether we will recognize Him and yield to the Holy Spirit’s control to experience His power and help. (Chúa Giê-xu ban cho Thần Linh của Chúa mà không đòi gía, ở trong lòng mỗi c/ta, chỉ có cái là c/ta có nhận biết và đầu phục Ngài không mà thôi.)
> It is powerful… when someone comes and receives Jesus as his/her Lord and Savior. (Khi một người đến nhận Chúa Giê-xu làm Cứu Chúa đời mình, người đó kinh nghiệm một sự thay đổi lạ lùng.)
> What a change in that person… when doubts, worries and fears are slowly withered. (Chắc chắn những sự nghi ngờ, lo sợ hay lo lắng sẽ dần dần bị khô héo.)
# We had 2 cactus plants inside the house and went on vacation. (C/tôi có trồng 2 cây xương rồng trong nhà và đi nghỉ mát.)
> When we returned – the cactus roots withered and the plants died; we then had to throw it away because we forgot to water it for a week. (Khi trở về thì rễ của cây xương rồng bị héo tàn vì thiếu nước, và phải vất cây đi.)
> Just like that – when we give our heart to Jesus, give “less water” to our doubts, fears, and worries… then our life issues will wither. (Giống như vậy, khi c/ta dâng tấm lòng và đời sống mình cho Chúa tể trị, không “tưới nước” cho sự lo sợ, nghi ngờ và lo lắng của đời sống mình thì những nan đề trong cuộc sống tự nhiên sẽ bị héo tàn mà thôi.)
# It’s true as one of the hymnals says - “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, and the things of this world grow strangely dim.” (Không phải một bài thánh ca nổi tiếng có câu: “Khi nhìn ngắm Vua vinh hiển thì mọi sự trong dương gian sẽ mờ dần” sao?)
> Joy comes every morning… that is bigger than our sorrow and life difficulties. (Sự vui mừng đến mỗi buổi sáng… lớn hơn những buồn phiền và khó khăn trong cuộc sống.)
> Contentment goes with us… that is bigger than fame. (Sự thỏa lòng sẽ cùng đi với c/ta mà c/ta sẽ thắng mọi sự đòi hỏi của vật chất.)
> Help and comfort walk along our paths… that are bigger than life dissapointments. (Sự tiếp trợ và bình an sẽ cùng bước đi với c/ta, vượt qua khỏi những thất vọng của cuộc đời.)
> Peace and harmony fill our heart… that are bigger than conflicts and bad news. (Sự hòa thuận tràn đầy tấm lòng của c/ta, thắng mọi sự xung đột xáo trộn trong cuộc sống này.)
> Strength that we can overcome anything in life because “I can do all things in Christ Jesus.”
4) Another truth is that our security in God is eternal… and not just in the present circumstances. (Một lẽ thật nữa, đó là sự an ninh trong Chúa thì tồn tại đời đời… chứ không chỉ tạm bợ chóng qua như những gì trong thế gian này.)
# If you are looking only at the present circumstances of life, you will be shaken; but if your life is grounded in eternity with God, you will stand firm. (Nếu c/ta chỉ dựa trên những gì của thế gian này thì c/ta sẽ bị di động, còn nếu c/ta cắm chặt niềm tin nơi Chúa đời đời thì c/ta sẽ đứng vững luôn.)
> As Christians, we know that nothing that happens here can harm or change the things that matter to us most, that is our relationship with God and our home in heaven. (C/ta biết rõ không có gì trên thế gian này có thể hãm hại, thay đổi định mệnh đời đời của c/ta với Chúa ở trong nước thiên đàng được.)
# The Bible in 2 Corinthians 5:1 tells us, “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.” (Kinh Thánh 2 Côrinhtô 5:1 chép rõ – “Vả, chúng ta biết rằng nếu nhà tạm của chúng ta dưới đất đổ nát, thì chúng ta lại có nhà đời đời tại trên trời, bởi Đức Chúa Trời, không phải bởi tay người làm ra.”
> So then why are you waiting to come to God for help? (Như vậy tại sao bạn còn chần chờ chưa chạy đến Ngài để có sự tiếp trợ?)
> This morning we got to settle these life issues, if you want to be a secure person, you got to know God, believe in Jesus, His Son and yield to His Spirit. (Sáng nay bạn muốn thanh toán mọi nan đề trong đời sống của mình, để có tấm lòng an ninh không? Thì bạn phải tìm đến Chúa, tin cậy Con Ngài và đầu phục cuộc đời của mình trong Thần Linh của Chúa hướng dẫn.)
> Repent your sins, get rid all idols, receive the forgiveness of sin, and let God holds your hands and leads you through this dark world to find peace and joy. (Hãy ăn năn tội, dẹp bỏ hết các tà thần tượng chạm, nhận sự cứu chuộc, và để Ngài nắm tay bạn dẫn đi trong cuộc sống đen tối này, mà tìm được sự vui mừng và bình an.)

> What rope are you holding onto right now? (Bạn đang nắm sợi giây thừng nào?)
> Is it your job, your bank account, your possessions, your degree? (Công ăn việc làm, nhà bank, bắng cấp, hay của cải ở đời này thôi chăng?)
> Every rope in this world is old and ready to snap at any second the moment doubt and storms come your way. (Mọi “sợi giây thừng” trong cuộc sống này sẽ bị đứt một ngày, ngay khi sự nghi ngờ và bão tố kéo đến cuộc đời của bạn.)
> The only way to fix that problem is to let God, the great and loving Father, Who is doing all the holding for our ropes; And with Him holding us, the rope will never break. (Chỉ có cách để có sự an ninh cho vấn đề này là bạn hãy để Cha của c/ta ở trên trời cầm giữ “sợi giây thừng” của cuộc sống mình, và khi Ngài nắm chặt thì sợi giây sẽ chắc chắn không bao giờ bị đứt được.)
> Are you willing to let God holding your life rope? (Bạn có sẽ bằng long để Chúa nắm giữ sự sống của bạn không?)
> Can you have an eternal security and peace in God, just as David once said in Psalm 23:4 – “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” (Bạn có thể nói bình an như Đavít ngày xưa đã nói trong Thi Thiên 23:4 – “Dầu khi tôi đi trong trũng bóng chết, Tôi sẽ chẳng sợ tai họa nào; vì Chúa ở cùng tôi; Cây trượng và cây gậy của Chúa an ủi tôi.”)
> Give your life to God, believe in Jesus and yield to His Spirit today… to find a perfect and complete security and peace! (Hãy dâng đời sống của mình trong tay Đức Chúa Trời, tin cậy Cứu Chúa Giê-xu, và vâng phục Thần Linh của Ngài ngay hôm nay, để bạn tìm được sự an ninh đời đời cho linh hồn mình.)

> Are you secured… with all the bad news around us?
> Do you have the inner peace to stand firm; no matter what kind of storms coming from the outside?
> Is your security coming from the government power, job security… or in the Lord our God and His promises?
> We draw our strength from a different source than those who do not know God, as the Scripture says: “Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 124:8).
> We base our security on a God who promises, according to Jesus, that no one and nothing can snatch us from our Father’s hand in John 10:28. (“Ta ban cho nó sự sống đời đời; nó chẳng chết mất bao giờ, và chẳng ai cướp nó khỏi tay ta.”)
> There are no guarantees of problem-free in this life for any of us. We are not safe, but we are loved by God— and that is our security.
> Jesus promised – “I am with you always. Nothing can ever separate us. It’s for you I created the universe.”
> Life is not safe, God is good always.
> We can turn to him. He is with us. You belong to God. We belong to Him.
> No matter where the journey takes us, if we allow Him to hold our hands and walk beside us; There is no greater security.
> Our security is in our faith in God.
> Our safety cannot be shaken, because we have a God who is in complete control of the universe. > The earth may crumble and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, but we know that God is unchanged, and his love will see us through.
> Come and let Him be the Lord of your life.
> Repent your sins and let the good Shepherd Jesus, God’s Son to care for Your Soul – He will never let you go; but you must come to Him.

> Can you say liked the psalmist in Psalm 20:7-8 – “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.” (“Kẻ nầy nhờ cậy xe cộ, kẻ khác nhờ cậy ngựa, Nhưng chúng tôi nhờ cậy danh Giê-hô-va, là Đức Chúa Trời chúng tôi. 8 Các kẻ ấy bị khòm xuống và sa ngã, Còn chúng tôi chỗi dậy, và đứng ngay lên.”)
# Every day, as I read the Scriptures in my morning devotions, I take one portion of what I have read and write God’s promises on a small card and place it in my pocket.
> So I can be reminded throughout the day of His promises.
# On Tuesday, I had read from Isaiah 61:1-3 – sent an e-mail to my friend… to encourage him that God can bind the broken heart, He can turn morning to joy and wish him to have a favor from God. (“… rịt những kẻ vỡ lòng, …. đặng yên ủi mọi kẻ buồn rầu, ban dầu vui mừng thay vì tang chế, ban áo ngợi khen thay vì lòng nặng nề…”)
> No matter how bad the storm is outside the boat, we can experience peace and joy because Jesus is with us; we are just unshakable.
> Is Jesus your Shepherd for He is a good One.
> A good shepherd never takes his eyes off the sheep.
# I wake up everyday, I’m praying this more and more as I get older; “Lord I just want to be a good sheep today. I’m grateful that Your hand is on me. You are leading me today. And no matter happens, I can look over the fence and see the world going to pieces, that doesn’t worry me, because the Lord is my Shepherd I shall not be in want.”

Don’t you know that one of the biggest issues in our life today is insecurity? We are living in a society which becomes more and more insecure each day. Not just the faraway wars in the Middle East or the conflicts between Vietnam and China, but right here in our homeland – the worry of terrorists can happen any day and anywhere without a warning alarm. What’s about the gun control, crime and racism issues that are spreaded at rampant rate in our country? These issues are not just in Dallas, Texas or Ferguson, Missouri… but it has spreaded to our city, right here in Baton Rouge. Job security is another and big worry for many people today. We now have doubt if our government can help to prevent an economic depression? Those who are waiting to retire have fear that the social security funding managed by our government may be run out soon. For sure, many people today cannot totally depend on social security in the future retirement based on the projected short comings of the current national deficit of over 500 billion dollars. We have many reasons to feel insecure these days.
So what can we do to deal with these doubts, worries and fears? Do you have anything in life that you can run to, in order to find comfort and security? We must find a Source of help that should have the following basic conditions: a) First, the Source must be greater than our enemies, and has the power to see our problems, our future to provide solutions. b) Not just having the ability and strength to help, but the Source must be willing to help us. And c) the Source helps us would not require a price that we cannot afford. It seems to be impossible to find a Source that can satisfy all these conditions above, because as human, we all have flaws, limitations, weakness, and no one can see the future. But the goodnews is that we have a great and good God described in the Bible Who we can give us all the help we need. The psalmist reminded us that God (our Source of help) is great and there is no impossible thing that He cannot do. God’s greatness and strength are demonstrated by His creation of heaven and earth. So when you doubt God, look up and see His creation. Do not focus on your problems, but focus on the great God Who can help. God is not just unlimited in His power, but He can see our future and prepares our ways so that we can avoid dangers, but ready for His blessings. There is nothing can surprise God, even things in the future, because “I know my God Who holds our Tomorrow.” God is not just great, but He is loving; He is more readily to help and to bless us. God promises to help us, and He is always available. He is not busy because He does not work; God does not rest, or sleep; you don’t have to send Him an e-mail or a text to wait for his reply; that is not the problem, but the problem is that do we know His promises, believe and claim them? God even promises to be with us always because we belong to Him; we will never be out of His sight. So when you are in fear, open the book and claim His promises then you will see how wonderful God can comfort and give us hope to overcome all kinds of life problems. God is readily to help without any costs. He gives grace freely through His Son. His Son gives the Holy Spirit freely Who dwells in each of us without any cost. The only problem is whether we will recognize Him and yield to the Holy Spirit’s control to experience His power and help. When we give our heart to Jesus by giving “less water” to our doubts, fears, and worries then our life issues will wither. Another truth is that our security in God is eternal and not just in the present circumstances. As Christians, we know that nothing that happens here can harm or change the things that matter to us most that are our relationship with God and our home in heaven.
So then why are you waiting to come to God for help? This morning we got to settle these life issues. If you want to be a secure person, you got to know God, believe in Jesus, His Son and yield to His Spirit. Repent your sins, get rid all idols, receive the forgiveness of sin and let God hold your hands and lead you through this dark world to find peace and joy. What rope are you holding onto right now? Every rope in this world is old and ready to snap at any second the moment doubt and storms come your way. The only way to fix that problem is to let God, the great and loving Father, Who is doing all the holding for our ropes; And with Him holding us, the rope will never break.
