(The Spiritual Rejuvenation)
Êsai 40:28-31
“Ngươi không biết sao, không nghe sao? Đức Chúa Trời hằng sống, là Đức Giê-hô-va, là Đấng đã dựng nên các đầu cùng đất, chẳng mỏi chẳng mệt; sự khôn ngoan Ngài không thể dò. 29 Ngài ban sức mạnh cho kẻ nhọc nhằn, thêm lực lượng cho kẻ chẳng có sức. 30 Những kẻ trai trẻ cũng phải mòn mỏi mệt nhọc, người trai tráng cũng phải vấp ngã. 31 Nhưng ai trông đợi Đức Giê-hô-va thì chắc được sức mới, cất cánh bay cao như chim ưng; chạy mà không mệt nhọc, đi mà không mòn mỏi.”
(Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.)
I. The Weariness of Life
> Are you tired, weak, or weary this morning? (Bạn có đang mệt mỏi, suy yếu hay phần tâm linh đang bị hao mòn không?)
1) Are you weary physically because of the busy-ness of life? (Bạn có đang mệt mỏi phần thể xác bởi nh sự bận rộn trong cuộc sống này không?)
# A professional has to wake up early every morning, going to the office, sitting in meetings, writing reports; trying to please so many different people: customers, co-workers, superiors, doing that for eight, nine, ten hours a day… (Một nhân công chuyên môn phải thức dậy sớm mỗi ngày đi làm, lo những cuộc họp, thảo những sự kiện, làm vừa lòng mọi người ở xở, cặm cụi từ 8 đến 10 tiếng mỗi ngày…)
> That’s not all, after working, he has to fight the busy traffic to get home; only to start a second job, as a mom or dad to help the kids with homework, bring them to soccer practice, piano lessons, and mowing the lawn. (Không phải vậy thôi, xong việc ra về c/ta phải đối diện với nan đề kẹt xe mỗi ngày cả tiếng đồng hồ mới về được tới nhà, và rồi còn biết bao những công việc khác phải lo cho con cái, cắt cỏ, việc nhà mà không bao giờ đủ thì giờ để làm cho xong.)
> The materialistic world has so many demands and responsibilities on us that makes us so tired: Bills we have to pay, car problem needs to fix, the house needs to be painted, plumbing is leaking, children and elders to take care for… (Cuộc sống vật chất này đầy những đòi hỏi làm c/ta thật mệt mỏi: những món tiền nợ phải trả, xe lại bị hư, nhà cửa cần sửa chữa, ống nước bị rỉ, còn phải chăm sóc con cái và những người cha mẹ lớn tuổi…)
2) Not just physically, are you emotionally exhausted? (Không phải chỉ phần thể xác mệt mỏi thôi, nhưng tinh thần của bạn có đang bị hao mòn hay kiệt sức không?)
> We all have our own struggles; we all have to deal with sorrow, loss, disappointment, and fear. (Ai trong c/ta cũng có những nan đề khó khăn, những nỗi đau buồn hay thất vọng mà c/ta phải đối diện với. Có gia đình nào không có vấn đề khó khăn không?)
# A story of a woman who came to a master in her village and asked him for a remedy to overcome her family sadness of losing her son. (Câu chuyện của một người đàn bà đối diện với một nỗi đau buồn trong gia đình mình, bà đến với một người thầy tâm lý ở trong làng để tìm câu trả lời.)
> The wise master asked her to first go out and find a special kind of herb by asking if any home in the village would have it, and bring the herb back to him then he would give her the answer. (Ông thầy tâm lý khôn ngoan bảo người đàn bà hãy đi vào làng của mình qua mọi nhà và hỏi tìm một loại cây thảo mộc đặc biệt đem về đây rồi ông sẽ cho câu trả lời cho nan đề của bà.)
> The woman searched throughout the city for many days but could not find the herb; she returned to the master and said: “I visited every homes in the village, asking for the special herb you requested, no one has it; but I learned something important – there is no family that does not have a problem, or sadness and some of their dissapointments are even much worse than mine. I am comfort now and will learn to deal with my own sorrow. (Người đàn bà đi khắp phố, đến từng nhà hỏi thăm loại thảo mộc đó nhưng không tìm được, bèn trở về với thầy tâm lý và nói: Tôi thăm mọi nhà, không ai có loại thỏa mộc mà ông bảo tôi tìm, nhưng tôi khám phá ra một điều là không có gia đình nào mà không có sự buồn đau, một số người còn có những vấn đề trầm trọng hơn của tôi nữa. Tôi cảm thấy được khích lệ và sẽ cố gắng tìm cách giải quyết chính nan đề của gia đình mình.)
> The master said: “That is the answer for your sorrow.” (Ông thầy tâm lý trả lời: “Đó là câu giải đáp cho nan đề của bà.”)
> Are you facing with some grief and suffering right now, may be because of some broken or disconnected relationships? (Bạn có đang đương đầu với sự buồn chán vì có những mối liên hệ đang bị đổ vỡ, xức mẻ không?)
> Are you dealing with any sickness that seems to have no cure for it and you want to give up? (Bạn có đang đối diện với một căn bệnh nguy hiểm nào mà không còn cách chữa, làm tâm trí mình bị kiệt quệ chán nản không?)
> Do you feel lonely in the crowd? (Bạn có đang cảm thấy cô đơn ở giữa thế giới đông người không?)
> Do you feel boring, empty, or lack of contentment in the world of hi-tech stuffs? (Bạn có đang thấy cuộc sống thiếu ý nghĩa, không thỏa lòng cho dù sống ở giữa một thế giới tân tiến này không?)
3) Not just physically or emotionally, are you spiritually drained and losing a good hope for the future? (Không phải chỉ phần mệt mỏi thể xác, tâm trí bị suy yếu thôi, nhưng phần tâm linh của bạn có đang bị héo mòn không? Hy vọng cho tương lai chỉ làm một đám mây mù mịt trước mắt?)
> Is your faith withered? (Đức tin của bạn có đang bị héo tàn hay khô cằn như một bãi sa mạc không?)
> Are you dealing with any temptation that is too strong; it becomes invisble chains binding you in an addiction that there is no way out? (Bạn có đang đối diện với những sự cám dỗ nào quá sức của mình không, nó trở thành những giây xích vô hình trói buộc mình vào những nghiện ngập không lối thoát không?)
> It seems like our world is liked “a sea of problems,” and moving fast into a “dark and empty hole” with no hope for the future, no answer to our problems, and no contentment in our heart. (Đời sống của c/ta đôi khi giống như là một “bể khổ,” đang đi dần vào một khối đen và trống rỗng, không có hy vọng cho ngày mai, không câu trả lời cho nhiều nan đề, và không có niềm vui trong tấm lòng.)
> So what can we do? Where can we find solutions and answers for our problems? Who can give us the strength to go on and hope to endure? (Làm sao c/ta tìm đâu được câu trả lời cho mọi vấn đề này đây? Ai là người sẽ ban cho c/ta sức mạnh để tiếp tục bước đi và hy vọng để chịu đựng cho đến cùng đây?)
> The world offers an abundant supply of solutions, but most of them are just counterfeit and temporary remedies. (Thế giới thì không thiếu những câu trả lời, nhưng hầu hết chỉ là những lời quảng cáo gỉa mạo hay chỉ có gía trị tạm thời mà thôi.)
a) Like many products for “skin rejuvenation” that promise to erase your face wrinkles after few weeks, but the end is just a quick way to waste your money. They don’t work – only faked advertisements. (Như những quảng cáo trên TV của những sản phẩm hứa sẽ phục hồi da nám trên mặt; nhưng chỉ làm cho các bà phí tiền bạc vô ích thôi, không có hữu dụng như những lời quảng cáo hay.)
b) Others find solutions in alcohol and drugs trying to numb themselves from all the problems, but only for a short time and after that the problems get worse. (Một số người khác thì đi tìm giải đáp qua rượu mạnh và cần sa ma túy, mong được làm tê liệt những vết thương lòng, nhưng chỉ một thời gian ngắn thôi và rồi sau đó còn máng vào những nan đề khó khăn, không giải quyết được.)
c) Some dull their senses with hours of television watching, internet surfing, video games, fishing, sports, gardening, ending up with many addictions and an increase in stress level. (Một số người khác thì dìm mình trong phim ảnh, dùng mạng lưới Internet để giết thì giờ, những trò chơi điện tử, hay chìm đắm trong những thú vui đời ở đời này, như là câu cá, làm vườn, xây cất, thể thao thể dục, nhưng cuối ngày thấy mọi sự là trống rỗng mà thôi.)
# Solomon, the wisest king, had enjoyed all kinds of pleasures but at the end of the day he said in Ecclesiates 2:17/23: “So I hated life, because the work that is done under the sun was grievous to me. All of it is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. 23 All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless.” (Giống như vị vua Salômôm ngày xưa đã hưởng thụ hết những thú vui trần thế nhưng cuối ngày chỉ kết luận rằng: “Vậy, ta ghét đời sống, vì mọi việc làm ra dưới mặt trời là cực nhọc cho ta, thảy đều hư không, theo luồng gió thổi… 23 Vì các ngày người chỉ là đau đớn, công lao người thành ra buồn rầu; đến đỗi ban đêm lòng người cũng chẳng được an nghỉ. Điều đó cũng là sự hư không.”)
> Life demands so much of us beyond our own physical, emotional and spiritual strengths to deal with. (Cuộc sống này có quá nhiều sự đòi hỏi làm c/ta mệt mỏi thể xác, suy nhược phần trí lẫn cả phần tâm linh.)
> We need a renewal of strength and a refresh for our spirit – how? (C/ta cần được phục hồi sức khỏe, phục sức tâm linh – nhưng làm sao đây?)
> Where is the true source of strength that we can “charge” our spirit and being renewed? (C/ta tìm đâu ra được nguồn trợ giúp để tâm linh, thể xác c/ta được phục sức đây?)
II. The Source of Strength
> The Bible in Isaiah 40 reminds us that the source of all renewed strength begins with knowing who God is and what He has promised to give. (Kinh Thánh Êsai 40 nhắc nhở c/ta sức mạnh phục hồi có thể tìm được từ ở chỗ mình nhận biết Đức Chúa Trời là ai và những gì Ngài đã hứa.)
> The background of Isaiah book can be divided into two parts. (Bối cảnh của sách Kinh Thánh Êsai được chia ra làm 2 phần chính.)
> The first 39 chapters deal with the impending judgment, and the second part - 27 chapters deal with forgiveness and deliverance. (39 đoạn đầu tiên nói tin tri về sự trừng phạt của Chúa sắp đến cho dân sự Ngài, nhưng 27 đoạn sau đó có lời hứa của sự tha thứ và giải cứu.)
> The book of Isaiah is liked a miniature Bible, reflecting 39 chapters in the Old Testament dealing with sins, and 27 chapters in the New Testament deal with the coming Savior — 66 books in all. (Sách Êsai giống như là một cuốn sách Kinh Thánh nhỏ, phản ảnh 39 sách trong Cựu Ước và 27 sách trong Tân Ước.)
> In the first 39 chapters, the prophet had warned the nation about the coming destruction and the deportment of the people to foreign lands because of their disobedience. (39 đọan đầu tiên tri cảnh cáo dân sự Chúa về sự trừng phạt của Ngài mà họ sẽ bị đưa đi lưu đầy qua xứ ngoại bang vì tội không vâng lời đi thờ hình tượng của dân sự Chúa.)
> But Isaiah wrote the second half of his book, beginning in chapter 40 with different tone to the people of Judah who would be already in exile to Babylon. (Nhưng phần cuối cùng của sách nói đến sự khổ sở mà dân sự Chúa sẽ phải đối diện ở xứ Babylôn.)
> For a long time, about 70 years in the foreign land, God’s people were losing hope; Even the young were beaten down, weary and defeated. (Trong vòng 70 năm lưu đầy ở xứ dân ngoại bang, dân sự Chúa mệt mỏi và đánh mất hy vọng, kể cả những kẻ trẻ tuổi cũng mòn mỏi và vấp ngã.)
> So God sent a message of hope ahead to them for the promise of a renewed strength and restoration of their land. (Thì Chúa đem đến cho họ lời khích lệ và hứa sẽ phục hồi đất nước của họ.)
> But they would never gain that strength unless they were willing to repent and wait on the Lord. (Muốn như vậy thì dân sự phải ăn năn, quay trở về và chờ đợi cho đến khi lời hứa của Chúa được thành toại.)
a) The renewed strength begins first with knowing that God is everlasting, that means He does not have an end to it. (Sự phục hồi sức mới bắt đầu bằng sự hiểu thấu Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời hằng sống.)
# We all know that everything in this world has an end to it: the new car will get rusted one day; the new house will have cracks, leaks and broken parts that need to be fixed one day; the beauty and life of each of us will be ended in death. (Mọi thứ ở trên đời này đều có sự kết thuíc, chiếc xe mới rồi một ngày sẽ bị rỉ sét, căn nhà mới rồi một ngày cần sửa chữa, và chính cuộc sống và sắc đẹp của mỗi người c/ta cũng sẽ có thời kết thúc.)
# There is an advertise on TV about the “Energizer battery” with a catch “keep on going” but we know soon or later the batteries will die and need replacement, because nothing lasts forever. (Một quảng cáo hay trên TV về pin “Energizer” có hình con thỏ đánh trống lâu hơn những món khác, nhưng rồi ai trong c/ta cũng biết pin đó sẽ không còn năng lực nữa một lúc nào đó.)
> But God is everlasting that just keeps on going and never runs out of strength. (Nhưng Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng hằng sống mãi mãi, trong Ngài không có sự kết thúc.)
> When Moses asked God for His name in Exodus 3:14 – He answered Moses that His name was “I AM,” this means God does not have a beginning or the end; He was already existed before time begun and will be still going even after time stops. (Khi vị lãnh đạo Môise có lần hỏi Đức Chúa Trời tên Ngài là chi thì Chúa trả lời: “Ta là Đấng hằng hữu và tự hữu” nghĩa là Ngài không có sự bắt đầu, cũng như không có sự kết thúc nào hết.)
> It is impossible to overcome “Someone” who would never die; or it would be a blessing when we can trust “Someone” Who is everlasting, that is always near to hear and to help us. (Có ai có thể thắng được một Đấng mà không hề chết, không có sự kết thúc được; Đấng đó phải là Đấng cho c/ta đáng tin cậy đời đời.)
b) Not just “everlasting,” but God is almighty, full of everlasting strength that can help us and never get tired. (Không phải vậy thôi nhưng Đấng Hằng Sống còn có sức mạnh bền bĩ đời đời có thể giúp đỡ c/ta được, vì quyền năng của Ngài là vô hạn.)
> The prophet Isaiah challenged us to look at His great creation of the heaven and the earth, the million galaxies that no one can comprehend to see His everlasting strength. (Tiên tri Êsai thách thức c/ta hãy nhìn xem sự sáng tạo vĩ đại của Ngài mà nhận biết quyền năng vô hạn này.)
> One of the modern great wonders of the world is the building of Great Wall in China with a length nearly 4,000 miles to prevent the invasion of northern enemies. (Một trong những tân kỳ công do con người dựng nên ngày hôm nay là vạn lý tường thành ở bên nước Trung Hoa, dài gần 4,000 dặm, bề cao và ngang gần 16’, để chống xâm lăng của những kẻ thù phía Bắc.)
> It was built through many dynasties and estimated over 400,000 lives were lost. (Kỳ công này xây cất trải qua nhiều đời vua/hoàng đế và ước lượng công lao của cả triệu triệu người, và đến 400,000 người bị tử mạng thì bức tường thành này mới xây xong.)
> But this is nothing compared to the great universe that God has created. (Nhưng kỳ công này không so sánh chi cho bằng cả triệu triệu những ngân hà Đức Chúa Trời đã sáng tạo trong vũ trụ.)
> Even with that great creation that God made, He does not grow tired or weary because His strength is everlasting; because He is an almighty God! (Với sự sáng tạo vĩ đại như vậy, Đức Chúa Trời không mệt mỏi vì năng quyền Ngài là vô hạn.)
c) Not just everlasting and power, but God’s great wisdom that who can phantom? (Không phải vậy thôi nhưng sự khôn ngoan của Ngài diễn tả qua những chương trình diệu kỳ của Chúa thì ai có thể thấu hiểu được.)
> God’s purpose for creating mankind is for eternity so all of His designs supply everything we need to achieve this purpose. (Mục đích Chúa dựng loài người lên với mục đích đời đời và Ngài cung cấp mọi môi trường để mục đích này được thành toại.)
a) The perfect conditions on this earth where we live in. (Cung cấp đầy đủ điều kiện vật chất sức sống trên đất cho sự sống loài người được tồn tại trên đất.)
# The hot sun of over 27 million degrees is placed not too far to freeze us to death, or not too close to burn us up, so life can be existed. (Mặt trời nóng đến hơn 27 triệu độ F được đặt không xa quá trái đất mà c/ta bị cóng chết, hay đặt quá gần mà thiêu đốt, hầu cho sự sống hiện hữu trên trái đất.)
# Have you ever wondered about the amazing cycle of life to supply our physical needs: God makes the grass to grow so cows can eat that supply food for our life because we don’t eat grass. (C/ta có thấy chu kỳ bảo tồn của Đấng Tạo Hóa hầu cung cấp mọi thực vật cho loài người không?)
b) Last week sermon we acklowedge that God created the unit of family so our emotional needs such as happiness, and love can be cared for, and we can be protected from all life dangers. (Bài giảng tuần trước thấy Chúa dựng nên đơn vị gia đình cho con người, để mọi nhu cầu tình cảm được đáp ứng khi c/ta chăm sóc cho nhau.)
> Last Friday home Bible study, we have learned that God established authorities and laws to maintain the order of life. (Bài học Kinh Thánh thứ Sáu qua cũng nhận biết ĐCT dựng nên một số định luật căn bản để bảo tồn sự sống loài người có trật tự.)
c) Even for the spiritual need, God provides the salvation through the incarnation of His Son Jesus, Who came into the world to die for our sins and supply the perfect and everlasting righteousness we need to sustain the eternal life in God’s kingdom. (Kể cả nhu cầu thuộc linh, Chúa cũng cung cấp sự cứu rỗi bằng cách sai Con một Ngài xuống thế gian, chĩu chết trên cây thập tự, hầu cho mọi kẻ tin có sự công bình để vào hưởng nước thiên đàng đời đời.)
> The wisdom of a great and almighty God understands all the causes of our weariness and He promised to renew our strength. (Chúa Đấng khôn ngoan vô hạn hiểu rõ mọi lý do gây nên sự mệt nhọc trong đời sống của c/ta và Ngài hứa sẽ ban cho sức mới.)
> Some of the pictures of restored strengths are given in these verses in Chapter 40 through the prophet as: (Một vài hình ảnh thấy trong đoạn Kinh Thánh Êsai 40 này.)
a) First, Isaiah prophet illustrated God’s given strength compared to an eagle flying high, and not a chicken or a duck walking on the ground. (Tác gỉa so sánh sức mới Chúa ban qua hình ảnh của một con chim diều hâu bay cao, chứ không phải là một con gà hay con vịt.)
# Chickens and turkeys can fly, but they rarely do because they are most comfortable on the ground; Sparrows and other small birds fly, but they mostly use their wings to get from one tree to another. But eagles soar freely in the sky. (Gà và vịt có thể bay nhưng không xa vì loài này thích đi trên đất; chim chỉ bay thấp từ cây này qua cây nọ để đủ kiếm ăn thôi; nhưng diều hâu bay lượn trên cao.)
> Eagles have no limitied view of great mountains and springs and can fly to any place they want to. They have great power on their wings of freedom. (Chim diều hâu bay không có một sự giới hạn nào hết để có thể đến bất cứ chỗ nào và thấy được sự hùng vĩ của núi non và sông rộng mà những con vật khác không thấy được.)
> Have you wondered why did America choose a bald Eagle for her national symbol? (Bạn có bao giờ thắc mắc tại sao chim diều hâu dùng biểu tượng cho nước Mỹ không?)
# The idea for using the bald eagle to symbolize America was proposed in 1782, and later was officially adopted as the emblem of the United States in 1787. (Ý này được đưa ra từ năm 1782, và sau này vào năm 1787, diều hâu được đồng ý chọn làm biểu tượng cho nước Hoakỳ.)
> The bald eagle was chosen because it symbolizes the strength and freedom of America. (Chim diều hâu biểu hiệu cho sức mạnh và sự tự do cho nước Mỹ này.)
> When God rejuvenates us with a new strength we will be liked an eagle flying high, above and overcoming all kinds of addictions, sorrows, and dissapointments to live an abundant lifestyle. (Khi Chúa phục sức mới cho c/ta thì c/ta sẽ như chim diều hâu bay cao, trên mọi sự nghiện ngập, mọi nỗi đau buồn, thất vọng để sống một đời mới dư dật.)
> There would be nomore evil strongholds that can control us anymore. There would be no temptations that are too strong to prison our life anymore. (Không còn một quyền lực nào của ma quỉ có thể điều khiển và trói buộc c/ta được nữa.)
b) The second picture is the act of “running” without getting tired. (Hình ảnh thứ hai là động từ “chạy” mà không mệt mỏi.)
> I can think of a horse with powerful strength to run because it is designed to run. (Tôi nghĩ đến hình ảnh của một con ngựa rừng, chạy mà không mệt mỏi vì nó được dựng nên là để chạy.)
> This means when God renews us there is nothing can take away the everlasting joy in our heart, even if it is Monday or dealing with life problems; because we have a great and everlasting God Who holds our future. (Đây có nghĩa là khi Chúa phục sức c/ta thì không có gì lấy đi được niềm vui và sự trông cậy trong lòng mình, bởi vì Chúa là Đấng hằng sống và cầm giữ tương lai của mình.)
> A strengthened life that would never stop, never give up of anything, and do not allow anything to block our ways, to limit our life to serve God. (Cuộc sống phục hưng sẽ không còn bất động, mệt mỏi, chán chường nữa, mà sẽ không để một điều gì còn cản trở c/ta hầu việc Chúa nữa.)
> Story of Nick Vujicic was born without hands and legs in 1982 in Australia. (Câu chuyện về đời sống của anh “Nick Vujicic,” sanh 1982, người Úc, không có tay lẫn chân.)
> But this could not limit him to be a singer; he can fish, swim and draw. (Nhưng điều này đã không cản trở anh thành một nhạc sĩ, thích câu cá, vẽ tranh và có thể bơi lội được.)
# More than that, Nick travels throughout the world to preach Gods’ word, and currently the director of an organization called “Life without limbs.” (Hơn nữa, anh đi khắp thế giới giảng lời Chúa, và là giám đốc của cơ quan quốc tế “Life without limbs.”)
# Nick says, “If God can use a man without arms and legs to be His hands and feet, then He will certainly use any willing heart!” (Anh đã một lần nói: “Nếu Chúa có thể dùng một người không tay không chân thì chắc chắn Ngài cũng sẵn sàng xử dụng một tấm lòng cam kết tin cậy Chúa.”)
> With the renewal strength of God, there is no limits for us to “run” without getting tired.
c) The third picture is the act of “walking” without fainted. (Hình ảnh thứ ba là “đi” mà không mòn mỏi.)
> I can think of a camel walking steadily in a hot dessert sand because it stores enough fat and water to overcome the heat of the dessert to keep walking until it reaches the source of refreshing water. (Tôi nghĩ đến hình ảnh của một con lạc đà cứ từ từ tiến bước trong sa mạc nóng cháy, vì nó đã có đủ chất lượng mỡ và nước trong người.)
# The phophet Isaiah said - "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength." (Tiên tri Êsai phán kể cả kẻ trai trẻ cũng mòn mỏi, nhưng ai tin cậy Chúa thì chẳng bị vấp ngã.)
> Even those who are in the prime of their life; they stumble and fall, because none of us is a superman. (Trong c/ta chẳng có ai là người anh hùng mà mạnh mẽ mãi.)
> But with God’s refresh strength so that we can walk and do things without tiredness or fears. (Chúa sẽ phục sức c/ta để hầu việc Ngài cách không mệt mỏi hay lo sợ bởi vì c/ta sẽ được đầy dẫy ơn điển và Thần linh của Ngài.)
> We will not be the people of sitting around and doing nothing, or being lazy. (C/ta sẽ không như những kẻ lười biếng, chỉ ngồi chơi, tự mãn không làm việc chi hết.)
> But we will be busy with good works on the way walking to heavenly home. (Nhưng c/ta sẽ đầy dẫy những việc lành trên con đường đi đến nước thiên đàng.)
> We will be faithful with our calling to the end, just as our Lord Jesus was faithful to His last breath on the cross. (C/ta cứ sẽ trung tín bước đi theo Chúa, như chính Ngài đã làm trọn công cuộc cứu chuộc ở trên cây thập tự cho đến hơi thở cuối cùng.)
III. Hope in the Lord
> To have renewed strengths, we have to place our hope in the Lord. (Để có sức mới c/ta phải đặt niềm tin nơi Chúa hoàn toàn và chờ đợi Ngài luôn.)
1) The verb “wait” expresses a person’s faith. (Động từ “đợi” diễn tả đức tin của một người.)
# A boy hears his parents promise: “If you are being good, you wil get that Christmas present.” (Đứa bé nghe cha mẹ nó nói: “Nếu con ngoan thì sẽ có món quà giáng sinh.”
> Everyday he wakes up, thinks about the present and trying to be good, trusting his parents’ promise, and waiting until the day he receives his Christmas present. (Mỗi ngày nó thức dậy nghĩ đến món quà, nên có gắng sống ngoan gnoãn và chờ đợi cho đến khi nhận được món quà nó muốn.)
> God cannot lie, if He promised - He will give it at His right time – we just wait. (ĐCT không thể nói láo được, nếu Ngài hứa sẽ ban cho thì c/ta sẽ nhận được - chỉ cứ đợi trông nơi Chúa thôi.)
2) The verb “wait” here also illustrates a faith in God alone. (Động từ “đợi” cũng nói đến một niềm tin dứt khoát tuyệt đối chỉ ở nơi một mình Chúa mà thôi.)
# David trusted God alone to the point he said in Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” (Như Đavít tin cậy Chúa hoàn toàn trong cuộc sống và đã tuyên bố: “Đức Giê-hô-va là Đấng chăn giữ tôi: tôi sẽ chẳng thiếu thốn gì.”)
# Paul trusted totally in his Lord Jesus alone when he wrote in Phillippians 3:13 – “I can do everything through him (alone) who gives me strength." (Như Phaolô tin cậy hoàn toàn nơi Chúa Giê-xu mà nói: “Tôi làm được mọi sự nhờ Đấng ban thêm sức cho tôi.”)
> Who do you trust today? Would you give up on Him when things get bad? (Quí vị đang tin ai? Có sẽ bỏ cuộc khi cơn giông kéo đến và mình sẽ không đợi trông Chúa nữa sao?)
3) The verb “wait” also means keep on trusting, being faithful until the completion of redemption. (Động từ “đợi” diễn tả hành động liên tục, cứ trông đợi cho đến khi sự cứu chuộc được trọn vẹn.)
> The greatest illustration of this kind of trust and dependence in God alone is in Jesus’ parable of the vine and branches. (Một thí dụ hay của sự trông cậy này được diễn tả trong một ẩn dụ của Chúa Giê-xu về “Gốc và nhánh.”)
# In John 15:5 Jesus said – "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (Chúa Giê-xu đã phán “Ta là gốc nho, các ngươi là nhánh. Ai cứ ở trong ta và ta trong họ thì sinh ra lắm trái; vì ngoài ta, các ngươi chẳng làm chi được.”)
> The constant abiding of the branches to draw the sap from the vine to sustain life and produce fruits. (Sự liên tục của nhánh luôn dính vào gốc để có nhựa sống và sanh trái.)
> It’s really that simple. If we are drawing our strength from Christ, we can do anything. If not, we can do nothing, especially when the storms of temptations are coming, the flood of disappointments are rising, and every other houses are falling. (Không có gì khó hiểu khi c/ta tin cậy và trông đợi Chúa, c/ta có thể làm được mọi sự cho dù sự cám dỗ lớn đến hay những chuyện đau buồn xảy ra.)
> Being faithful to God is a picture of a man constantly spending time to study and rest in God’s word each day no matter how busy life is. (Sống trung tín với Chúa giống như một người hằng suy gẫm lời Chúa đêm và ngày cho dù cuộc sống bận rộn đến đâu đi nữa.)
> He eats the “daily bread of heaven” 365 days a year to be strengthen each day. (Người này ăn bánh hằng sống mỗi ngày đủ trọn 365 ngày trong một năm.)
> As in Hebrews 10:25 - He is “not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but (even) encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Người này sẽ không “bỏ sự nhóm lại như mấy kẻ quen làm, nhưng phải khuyên bảo nhau, và hễ thấy ngày ấy hầu gần chừng nào, thì càng phải làm như vậy chừng nấy.”)
> He is not the hearer, but the doer of the word; He walks his talks, setting a solid godly example for others to follow Jesus. (Người này sẽ không phải là kẻ chỉ nghe, nhưng làm theo lời Chúa phán dậy, trở thành một tấm gương tốt cho mọi người khác noi theo.)
> A last and personal picture is “my mom” taking steps by steps each day. (Hình ảnh cuối là hình ảnh của người mẹ tôi.)
> She cannot walk by herself, but depends totally on me. (Bà không bước đi bình thường như mỗi c/ta, nhưng phải lệ thuộc vào sự giúp đỡ của những người khác.)
> She leans over my side when she walks to be supported by my hands to guide her each step. (Mỗi lần bước đi bà phải dựa vào người tôi và cánh tay đỡ của tôi.)
> She feels secured in me because I would not let her go. (Bà thấy an lòng vì tôi sẽ không bao giờ buông tay ra.)
> God would do the same and more as we trust and wait on Him. (Chúa cũng làm giống và hơn như vậy, Ngài dìu dắt c/ta mỗi ngày, nếu c/ta cứ tin cậy và trông đợi nơi Ngài.)
> He will not let go of us, even the time we don’t want to lean on Him. (Chúa sẽ không bao giờ buông c/ta ra; kể cả những lúc c/ta tự muốn buông Ngài ra.)
> God wants to renew our strength and refresh our spirit because He is the everlasting God. (ĐCT muốn phục sức cho mỗi người c/ta, phần thể xác chữa lành mọi bệnh tật, phần tâm trí được thỏa lòng, và kể cả phần tâm linh được tha tội và sống trong hy vọng chờ đợi nước thiên đàng.)
> Just trust and wait on God, until we enter in His rest and enjoy His kingdom forever. (Chỉ hãy tin cậy nơi Chúa và trông đợi Ngài cho đến một ngày được vào hưởng nước của Ngài đời đời.)

> Life is hectic physically, emontionally, and spiritually.
> We are on “the spin” of this world that has so many demands, responsibilities, and distractions to a point that we sometimes feel that we cannot go on anymore.
> We are physically tired and emotionally exhausted, life drains our spirit.
> Is your spiritual resource depleting inside? (Năng lực tâm linh của bạn bên trong có đang bị suy nhược hao mòn không?)
> We need help. We need a refresh, a renewal for our strengths.
> God promises to help with His everlasting power.
> He never rejects anyone who sincere seeks Him for a renewal.
> He never runs out of strength, or get tired of blessing us.
> He will strengthen us. He will renew us from inside out.
> He is the only Source of all our everlasting strength, joy, and salvation.
> Run to Him, trust Him, and wait on Him.
> His Son Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28 – “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (“Hỡi những kẻ mệt mỏi và gánh nặng, hãy đến cùng ta, ta sẽ cho các ngươi được yên nghỉ.”)
> Come and lean on Jesus then we can spread our wings to fly high as an eagle, run and not grow weary, and walk and not be faint.

Come to Jesus this morning and find rest and everlasting strength.
The Spiritual Rejuvenation
(Isaiah 40:28-31)
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. 29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Are you tired, weak, or weary this morning because of the busy-ness of life? The materialistic world has so many demands and responsibilities on us that makes us so tired. Not just physically, are you emotionally exhausted? Are you facing with some grief and suffering right now, may be because of some broken or disconnected relationships? Are you dealing with any sickness that seems to have no cure for it and you want to give up? Do you feel lonely in the crowd? Do you feel boring, empty, or lack of contentment in the world of hi-tech stuffs? Not just physically or emotionally, are you spiritually drained? Is your faith withered? Are you dealing with any temptation that is too strong; it becomes invisible chains binding you in an addiction that there is no way out? So what can we do? Where can we find solutions and answers for our problems? Who can give us the strength to go on and hope to endure?
The world offers an abundant supply of solutions, but most of them are just counterfeit and temporary remedies. Some find solutions in alcohol and drugs trying to numb themselves from all the problems, but only for a short time and after that the problems get worse. Others dull their senses with hours of television watching, internet surfing, video games, fishing, sports, gardening, ending up with many addictions and an increase in stress level. Life demands so much of us beyond our own physical, emotional and spiritual strengths to deal with. We need a renewal of strength and a refresh for our spirit – how? Where is the true source of strength that we can “charge” our spirit and being renewed?
The Bible in Isaiah 40 reminds us that the source of all renewed strength begins with knowing who God is and what He has promised to give. The renewed strength first begins with knowing that God is everlasting that means He does not have an end to it. God is everlasting that just keeps on going and never runs out of strength. It is impossible to overcome “Someone” who would never die; or it would be a blessing when we can trust “Someone” Who is everlasting, that is always near to hear and to help us. Not just “everlasting,” but God is almighty, full of everlasting strength that can help us and never get tired. The prophet Isaiah challenged us to look at His great creation of the heaven and the earth, the million galaxies that no one can comprehend. Even with that great creation that God created, He does not grow tired or weary because His strength is everlasting; because He is an almighty God! Not just everlasting and power, but God’s great wisdom that who can phantom? God’s purpose for creating mankind is for eternity so all of His designs supply everything we need to achieve this purpose. The perfect conditions on this earth where we live in. God created the unit of family so our emotional needs such as happiness, love can be cared for. Even for the spiritual need, God provides the salvation through the incarnation of His Son Jesus, Who came into the world to die for our sins and supply the perfect and everlasting righteousness we need to sustain the eternal life in God’s kingdom.
Some of the pictures of restored strengths are given in these verses in Chapter 40 through the prophet as: a) Isaiah prophet illustrated God’s given strength compared to an eagle flying high, and not a chicken or a duck walking on the ground. Eagles have no limited view of great mountains and springs and can fly to any place they want to. They have great power on their wings of freedom. When God rejuvenates us with a new strength we will be liked an eagle flying high, above and overcoming all kinds of addictions, sorrows, and disappointments to live an abundant lifestyle. There would be no more evil strongholds that can control us anymore; No temptations that are too strong to prison our life anymore. The second picture is the act of “running” without getting tired. I can think of a horse with powerful strength to run because it is designed to run. This means when God renews us there is nothing can take away the everlasting joy in our heart, even if it is Monday or dealing with life problems; because we have a great and everlasting God Who holds our future. A strengthened life that would never stop, never give up of anything, and do not allow anything to block our ways, to limit our life to serve God. The third picture is the act of “walking” without fainted. I can think of a camel walking steadily in a hot dessert sand because it stores enough fat and water to overcome the heat of the dessert to keep walking until it reaches the source of refreshing water. The prophet Isaiah said - "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength."
