(Why Do We Need the Bible?)
2 Timothy 3:16-17
“Cả Kinh Thánh đều là bởi Đức Chúa Trời soi dẫn, có ích cho sự dạy dỗ, bẻ trách, sửa trị, dạy người trong sự công bình, 17 hầu cho người thuộc về Đức Chúa Trời được trọn vẹn và sắm sẵn để làm mọi việc lành.”
(All Scripture (Bible) is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.)
> By God’s will, I plan to preach a series of 3 sermons for
three Sundays, with the purpose to help answering important questions about the

1) What is the Bible; Why do we need the Bible? (Kinh Thánh là gì mà tại sao c/ta cần đến?)
2) Is the Bible true, reliable, and verifiable? (Kinh Thánh có đáng cho c/ta tin cậy và có thể xác định là đúng thật không?)
3) How can the Bible be relevant to our daily life? (Kinh Thánh liên hệ chi đến đời sống của c/ta?)
> I want to imitate Paul when he once said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 – “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” (Tôi muốn bắt chước Phaolô và nói điều này trước tiên về mục đích của những bài giảng này – “Lời nói và sự giảng của tôi chẳng phải bằng bài diễn thuyết khéo léo của sự khôn ngoan, nhưng tại sự tỏ ra Thánh Linh và quyền phép; hầu cho anh em chớ lập đức tin mình trên sự khôn ngoan loài người, bèn là trên quyền phép Đức Chúa Trời.”)
I. What is the Bible?
> What is the Bible? (Kinh thánh là gì?)
# The word “Bible” comes from the Latin and Greek words… meaning “book.” (Chữ “Kinh Thánh” hay tiếng Anh là “Bible” đến từ gốc của tiếng latin và hy-lạp, nghĩa là “cuốn sách.”)
> But it’s not just any ordinary book, it is the book of the words of God from above to all people. (Nhưng Kinh Thánh không phải chỉ là một cuốn sách như mọi sách khác, nhưng là lời của chính Đức Chúa Trời đến cho mọi người.)
1) No. 1 - To understand the Bible is the words of God, we must first answer the question does God exist, and Who is He? (Thứ nhất, để hiểu Kinh thánh là lời Đức Chúa Trời thì c/ta phải trả lời một câu hỏi trước đó - Đức Chúa Trời có không và Ngài là ai?)
> If we are to know God at all, it is necessary that He reveals Himself to us; and one of the ways God did is through the Bible – His words. (Nếu c/ta muốn thông biết Chúa là ai, thì điều cần thiết chính Ngài phải khải thị cho c/ta hiểu; và một trong những đường lối Chúa dùng đó là qua Kinh thánh - lời của Chúa.)
> The Bible helps us to know God does exist through the evidence of creation found in nature. (Kinh Thánh giúp cho c/ta hiểu Đức Chúa Trời hiện hữu qua chứng cớ của những tạo vật xung quanh.)
# Romans 1:18-20 – “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Trong Rôma 1, chính Phaolô đã nói: “Vả, cơn giận của Đức Chúa Trời từ trên trời tỏ ra nghịch cùng mọi sự không tin kính và mọi sự không công bình của những người dùng sự không công bình mà bắt hiếp lẽ thật. 19 Vì điều chi có thể biết được về Đức Chúa Trời thì đã trình bày ra cho họ, Đức Chúa Trời đã tỏ điều đó cho họ rồi, 20 bởi những sự trọn lành của Ngài mắt không thấy được, tức là quyền phép đời đời và bản tánh Ngài, thì từ buổi sáng thế vẫn sờ sờ như mắt xem thấy, khi người ta xem xét công việc (sáng tạo) của Ngài. Cho nên họ không thể chữa mình được,”)
> Everyone including the unbelievers, or godless people have the inner sense that there is a great Creator – “they knew God” because of the evidence of the creation and in the Scripture. (Mọi người, kể cả những kẻ không tin, cũng có một cảm giác ý thức rằng trên trời có một Đấng Tạo Hóa Chí Cao, bởi vì chứng cớ của những tạo vật xung quanh mà mắt họ nhìn thấy được.)
> This fact is so important that the Bible starts out with a very important truth in Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Chứng cớ quan trọng này được xác nhận trong Kinh Thánh ngay sách đầu tiên Sáng Thế Ký 1:1 – “Ban đầu Đức Chúa Trời dựng nên trời đất.”)
# The “big bang theory” states that life begun from a first explosion, but it cannot answer the question - who did create the big bang in the first place without Genesis 1:1? (Thuyết “khối nổ lớn” dạy rằng sự sống mọi loài bắt đầu từ sự bùng nổ lớn trong vũ trụ, nhưng không thể giải thích được ai đã dựng nên khối này lúc ban đầu nếu không có Kinh Thánh Sáng Thế Ký 1:1?)
> There must a self-existed God who creates the heaven and the earth in the beginning to start life, and time. (Kinh Thánh khẳng định phải có một Đấng Tạo Hóa tự hữu đã dựng nên trời và đất từ lúc ban đầu và bắt đầu mọi sự sống cùng thời gian.)
# The fact that we have 7 days in a week is the proof that God started time in Genesis Chapter 1 when He created everything in 6 days and rested on the 7th day. (Nội Kinh Thánh chép về sự Chúa sáng tạo mọi vật trong 6 ngày và Ngài nghỉ ngày thứ bảy, mà nay c/ta sống trong định luật 7 ngày mỗi tuần cũng đã làm chứng Chúa bắt đầu thời gian, phải không?)
a) If you Look up – you see an amazing space that God created & no man or scientist can comprehend all of it. (Hãy nhìn lên để thấy bầu không gian vĩ đại mà không có nhà bác học nào hiểu hết được?)
# Psalm 19:1 – “The heavens declare the glory (the greatness) of God; the skies proclaim the (wonderful) work of his hands.” (Vì vậy trong Thi Thiên 19, tác gỉa làm chứng – “Các từng trời rao truyền sự vinh hiển của Đức Chúa Trời, Bầu trời (duy chuyển một cách trật tự) giải tỏ công việc tay Ngài làm.”)
> We do not have a blind faith, but we have the evidence of creation. (C/ta sống bởi đức tin có chứng cớ, chứ không phải là vô cớ.)
b) If you Look around – you see an amazing cycle to maintain life: For example, trees take in CO2 and gives O2 in the air; We breath in air and breath out CO2 that would never run out. (Hãy nhìn xung quanh bạn có thấy Đấng Tạo Hóa duy trì sự sống của mọi loài lạ lùng không, như là luôn đủ không khí cho c/ta thở?)
c) If you Look in – you see an amazing creation with all the body parts working wonderfully together for many years. (Hãy nhìn xem bên trong thân thể của mình, bạn có thấy mọi chi thể hoạt động một cách lạ lùng để sự sống của c/ta được tồn tại không?)
# We have more than 7,500 parts and 40 trillion cells in our body.
# Psalm 139:13-14 – “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Trong Thi Thiên 139, Đavít nhận thức điều gì? “Vì chính Chúa nắn nên tâm thần tôi, Dệt thành tôi trong lòng mẹ tôi. Tôi cảm tạ Chúa, vì tôi được dựng nên cách đáng sợ lạ lùng. Công việc Chúa thật lạ lùng, lòng tôi biết rõ lắm.”)
> If God does NOT exist, we surely don’t need the Bible. (Nếu Chúa không có hiện hữu, c/ta sẽ không có Kinh Thánh và khỏi cần đề cập đến làm gì.)
> If God does NOT exist, then we cannot have the Bible, because the Bible is His words. (Nếu Đức Chúa Trời không hiện hữu thì c/ta không thể có Kinh Thánh được, vì Kinh Thánh là lời của Ngài.)
2) No. 2 - the Bible helps us to know that God wants a relationship with us as creature that was created in His own image. (Điều thứ hai, Kinh Thánh giúp cho c/ta hiểu Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng muốn có mối liên hệ với con người c/ta, là loài giống được dựng nên giống hình ảnh của Ngài.)
> God is personal and wants to communicate with us. (Chúa là Đấng mà c/ta có thể liên hệ được.)
# In Genesis 3:8 – The Bible said after Adam & Eve created; God often walked about in the garden to have a direct fellowship with them – “Then the man and his wife (Adam & Eve) heard the sound of the Lord God as He was walking in the garden in the cool of the day…” (Trong Sáng Thế Ký 3:8 có chép lúc ban đầu sau khi dựng nên loài người thì Đức Chúa Trời thường xuyên đi lại trong vườn để tương giao với Ađam và Êva.)
> Later, God directly interacts with us in a Person Who is Jesus Christ that the Bible talks about from the front and all the ways to the back. (Sau này c/ta thấy Chúa liên hệ với loài người một cách trực tiếp qua Ngôi Hai, Cứu Chúa Giê-xu mà cả Kinh Thánh nói đến từ đầu đến cuối.)
# Communication is the today No. 1 need – That’s why we have Facebook, Twitter, texting, e-mail, Groupchat… (Ai cũng biết sự thông tin liên lạc là nhu cầu số một hiện nay vì thế c/ta có những hệ thống thông tin như Facebook, e-mail, texting…)
> Then why can’t we understand that God wants to communicate with His creation; So, He inspired about 40 different people to write down His words today in a book, called the Bible for us to know Him? (Vậy tại sao c/ta không hiểu Chúa Chí Cao cũng muốn thông tin, liên hệ đến với c/ta; cho nên Ngài đã cảm hóa gần 40 người viết lời Ngài xuống, nay trở thành sách Kinh Thánh cho c/ta biết Chúa?)
> God wants to communicate/relate with us, that’s why His words must be written down in the human language and maintained, preserved; so generations after generations can know Him. (Chúa muốn liên hệ với loài người, vì vậy lời Ngài phải được viết xuống bằng ngôn ngữ của c/ta, phải được duy trì để qua mọi thế kỷ người ta đọc và biết Chúa.)
> Memories will fade with time; without written down in a book called the Bible, the truth cannot be preserved and passed down through generations. (Trí nhớ của con người có hạn từ sau khi Ađam phạm tội, cho nên lời Chúa phải được viết xuống nay gọi là sách Kinh Thánh.)
3) No. 3 - through the Bible we know God’s characters and attributes. (Điều thứ ba, qua Kinh Thánh c/ta có thể thông biết những bản tánh và thần tánh của Chúa.)
> Of course, we as human would never know fully about the infinite God and His greatness, wisdom, power, and ways until we reach heaven. (Đương nhiên c/ta là những người trần thì không ai có thể hiểu thấu được về Đức Chúa Trời toàn năng, vô hạn, sự cao cả, khôn ngoan của Ngài hết được.)
# Psalm 145:3 – “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.” (Tác gỉa Thi Thiên 145 nói: “Đức Giê-hô-va là lớn và đáng ngợi khen thay; Sự cao cả Ngài không thể dò xét được.”)
# Isaiah 55:8-9 - “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Trong Êsai 55 có chép – “Đức Giê-hô-va phán: Ý tưởng ta chẳng phải ý tưởng các ngươi, đường lối các ngươi chẳng phải đường lối ta. Vì các từng trời cao hơn đất bao nhiêu, thì đường lối ta cao hơn đường lối các ngươi, ý tưởng ta cao hơn ý tưởng các ngươi cũng bấy nhiêu.”)
> But the Bible helps us to know as much as we can know God in the sphere of humanity. (Nhưng qua Kinh Thánh, lời Chúa giúp cho c/ta có thể biết Chúa một phần nào trong thế giới của loài người.)
> The Bible helps us to recognize that God’s characters have two different types: (Bản tánh của Đức Chúa Trời được xếp vào 2 laọi.)
a) There are attributes that for His own, and not shared with us. These attributes distinguish between the Creator and all creations. (Có những thần tánh chỉ có cho riêng Chúa thôi mà c/ta không có; những thần tánh này phân biệt được giữa Đấng Tạo Hóa và mọi loài tạo vật khác.)
> Can you name some? (Bạn có thể nêu ra vài thần tánh này không?)
i) Self-existed, Self-sufficient and Independence – Nothing creates God, and He does not need anything or anyone in order to exist and survive. (Chúa là Đấng Tự Có, Tự lập – nghĩa là không có gì sáng tạo ra Chúa và ngài không cần một ai, hay một thứ gì để hiện hữu và tồn tại đời đời.)
> His independent attribute is reflected by His name “I AM WHO I AM,” this means God’s existence and characters are determined by Himself alone, and are not dependent on anyone or anything else. (Sự tự lập hoàn toàn của Chúa được phản ảnh qua chính tên của Ngài là “Đấng Tự hữu và Hằng hữu.”)
ii) God is All-powerful, not us – that means there is nothing impossible that God cannot do. (Chúa là Đấng đầy quyền năng, có nghĩa là không có gì Ngài không làm được.)
> We cannot stop a hurricane; the only thing we can do is to evacuate, and later come home back to rebuild; but God in Jesus did calm many storms recorded in the New Testament. (C/ta không thể ngừng các trận bão, chỉ có thể di cư đi chỗ khác, rồi sau đó trở về xây cất lại; nhưng c/ta thấy Đức Chúa Trời qua Chúa Giê-xu đã nhiều lần làm lặng yên những bão tố trước mắt các môn đồ mình.)
> We cannot raise a dead person, but God in Jesus did three times recorded in the Bible. (C/ta không thể làm người chết sống lại, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời trong Chúa Giê-xu đã 3 lần làm kẻ chết sống lại.)
iii) God is All-present, not us. (Chúa hiện diện ở khắp nơi.)
> We cannot be at more than one place at one time, but not God. (C/ta không thể ở nhiều chỗ cùng một lúc được, bị giới hạn bởi không trung, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời thì không như vậy.)
# Psalm 139:7-10 – “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” (Trong Thi Thiên 139 tác gỉa Đavít nói gì? “Tôi sẽ đi đâu xa Thần Chúa? Tôi sẽ trốn đâu khỏi mặt Chúa? 8 Nếu tôi lên trời, Chúa ở tại đó, Ví tôi nằm dưới âm-phủ, kìa, Chúa cũng có ở đó. 9 Nhược bằng tôi lấy cánh hừng đông, Bay qua ở tại cuối cùng biển, 10 Tại đó tay Chúa cũng sẽ dẫn dắt tôi, Tay hữu Chúa sẽ nắm giữ tôi.”)
> Could David go anywhere that God was not there? (Có thể nào Đavít đến một chỗ nào mà không có Ngài hiện diện chăng?)
iv) Since God is All-present, He is All-knowing; this means He never learns new things or forgets anything. (Vì ở khắp mọi nơi, Chúa biết mọi điều, nghĩa là Chúa không cần học một điều nào mới hết, và cũng không bao giờ quên chi hết.)
> The Bible said that God even lives in our heart and mind – He knows every thoughts of man; so there is nothing can be hidden from Him. (Kinh Thánh chép Chúa còn biết rõ ý tưởng của mọi lòng, không có điều chi dấu Ngài được.)
# Acts 15:8a – “God, who knows the heart…” (Trong Công Vụ 15:8a có chép – “Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng biết lòng người…”)
# Acts 5 – God judges a couple named Ananias and Sapphira because they lied to Spirit of God, kept back some of the money that they already dedicated to God; God took their lives home to set an example for the other Christians in the early church. (Trong Công Vụ 5 có chép Đức Chúa Trời đóan phạt cặp vợ chồng Anania va Saphira, vì họ nói dối với Chúa trong lòng, dấu lại một số tiền đã hứa dâng cho Ngài. Chúa cất sự sống của họ đi, để cảnh chứng cho con cái Chúa trong Hội Thánh ban đầu lúc đó.)
v) God is Unchangeable (but we do – have you looked at yourself in the mirror lately?) (Chúa không hề thay đổi: không như c/ta, nếu không tin bạn soi mặt mình trong gương đi?)
# Hebrews 13:8 - God in “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Trong Hêberơ 13:8 – Đức Chúa Trời trong “Chúa Jêsus Christ hôm qua, ngày nay, và cho đến đời đời không hề thay đổi.”)
> This means His perfection, promises, purposes, His being, and attributes do not change. (Đây có nghĩa là thần tánh toàn vẹn, lời hứa, chương trình và bản tánh của Chúa không hề thay đổi.)
vi) God is eternal, not subjecting to any limitations, but we are subject to time. (Chúa là đấng Hằng Hữu đời đời, cho nên Ngài không bị giới hạn, ràng buộc bởi thời gian.)
> Time does not limit God, but we are constrained almost everything with time from the start of the days to when we lay down and rest our body & soul in the dust. (Nhưng c/ta hết thảy bị đóng khung bởi thời gian mỗi ngày cho đến khi nằm xuống.)
> My life is framed starting 9 months before September 6, 1959. (Cuộc sống tôi bị đóng khung từ lúc 9 tháng trước ngày 6 tháng 9 năm 1959.)
v) God owns everything, everything under the sun and above it belong to God. (Đức Chúa Trời là Đấng tể trị làm Chủ mọi thứ ở dưới mặt trời, vì mọi vật đều thuộc của Ngài.)
# Psalm 24:1 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;” (Tác gỉa Thi Thiên 24 làm chứng - “Đất và muôn vật trên đất, Thế gian và những kẻ ở trong đó, đều thuộc về Đức Giê-hô-va.”)
# The story of a boy asked his dad why I have to thank God when you are the one gave me 5$?
# Teens - I don’t give you PAI (Plan-Ahead Incentives) – God does, so always thank Him. (Các em mà ghi chú nộp bài điền vào chỗ trống mỗi tuần và có tiền khích lệ không phải là do Mục Sư cho, nhưng cuối cùng thật sự do Chúa ban cho các em.)
b) There are attributes that God shares with us who are made in His own image. (Có những bản chất Chúa có và cũng ban cho c/ta nữa.) Do you know some of them? (Bạn có nêu ra vài thứ được không?)
i) We are made of flesh and blood, but we are created higher than things and animals, because we have spirits, as in John 4:24 said that “God is Spirit.” (C/ta có phần xác thịt, nhưng cũng có phần linh hồn vì được dựng nên giống hình ảnh của Đức Chúa Trời và Ngài “là thần…”)
> When we say God is spirit and infinite meaning that He does not have size and dimensions liked us (e.g. height, weight, shoe sizes, eye color…) (Khi c/ta nói Đức Chúa Trời là thần nghĩa là Chúa không có hình thù, cỡ, kích thước, hay màu sắc…)
> No space big enough to contain God because He is Spirit - a kind of existence that is far superior to all our material existence. (Không có một khoãng trống nào lớn đủ để chứa được Chúa là Thần Linh.)
> We have spirit in order to connect, to have a relationship with our Creator God that no other kinds on earth knows how. (C/ta có linh hồn là phần c/ta có thể liên hệ với Chúa, mà không loài giống nào trên đất này có được hết.)
# You would never see a group of cows or monkeys gathering together on Sunday to worship?
> However, we know that God sometimes chose some outward form or manifestation which at least in part was able to be seen by man in the Old Testament. (Mặc dầu vậy, có khi Đức Chúa Trời biểu thị hiện ra qua một phần thể chất nào đó để con người có thể thấy được Chúa trong thời Cựu Ước.)
> And of course, a much greater visible manifestation of God in the New Testament was found in the person of Jesus Christ Himself, for He is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15) (Đương nhiên sau này, Đức Chúa Trời đã hiện hữu trực tiếp đến với loài người qua sự giáng thế của Chúa Giê-xu làm người.)
ii) Another shared attribute of God is His knowledge and wisdom; although our understanding is limited here on earth. (Một bán tánh nữa Chúa ban cho c/ta đó là sự hiểu biết và khôn ngoan thánh; mặc dầu c/ta không thể hiểu hết những điều mầu nhiệm sâu xa thuộc của Chúa khi còn sống trên đất.)
> For example, on Wednesday Bible study, we learn in 1 Corinthians 1:22-24 defines God’s wisdom – “Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (Trong 1 Côrinhtô 1 có cho thấy sự khôn ngoan của Đức Chúa Trời như sau: “Vả, đương khi người Giu-đa đòi phép lạ, người Gờ-réc tìm sự khôn ngoan, 23 thì chúng ta giảng Đấng Christ bị đóng đinh trên cây thập tự, là sự người Giu-đa lấy làm gương xấu, dân ngoại cho là dồ dại; 24 song le, về những người được gọi, bất luận người Giu-đa hay người Gờ-réc, thì Đấng Christ là quyền phép của Đức Chúa Trời và sự khôn ngoan của Đức Chúa Trời.”)
> The wisdom of God is the message of the cross of Jesus Christ that the world sees as foolish thing. (Sự khôn ngoan của Chúa chính là sứ điệp về thập tự của Chúa Giê-xu mà thế gian coi là ngu dại.)
> The world cannot see the wisdom of God “that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose, (Romans 8:28) toward the goal “to be conformed to the image of his Son,” (Romans 8:29) (Thế gian không thể thấy và hiểu được sự khôn ngoan của Chúa mà “biết rằng mọi sự hiệp lại làm ích cho kẻ yêu mến Đức Chúa Trời, tức là cho kẻ được gọi theo ý muốn Ngài đã định… để (trở nên) giống như hình bóng Con Ngài…”)
> With the wisdom of God, we have hope because God knows the future – He is the Alpha and Omega, the begining and the end. (Với sự khôn ngoan của Chúa, c/ta có hy vọng bởi vì c/ta biết Chúa là Đấng biết rõ và định tương lai đời đời – Ngài là Alpha và Ômega, là đầu và cũng là cuối cùng mọi sự.)
iii) Another moral attribute of God in us is to know and do good. (Chúa ban cho c/ta bản tánh đạo đức biết và làm việc lành.)
> What is good? “Good” is what God approves; So, the Bible is good because it contains the things that God approves (or disapproves.) (Những điều “lành” nghĩa là sao? Nghĩa là những điều Chúa chấp thuận và gọi là lành theo tiêu chuẩn của Ngài.)
> We learn God’s goodness in the Person of Christ and His life that recorded in the Bible; for He came to this world, obeyed the Father’s approved will, and died on the cross to bring salvation to all men. (C/ta học về đức tánh tốt lành của Đức Chúa Trời trong Cứu Chúa Giê-xu, ghi chép lại cuộc đời của Ngài đến thế gian, vâng phục Chúa Cha, chịu chết trên thập tự gía chuộc tội nhân loại, là ý muốn của Chúa để cứu mọi người.)
> In imitation of this attribute, we should learn to do good to everyone as the Bible in Galatians 6:10 teaches – “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Để bắt chước Chúa, c/ta cũng học nơi Ngài mà làm việc lành như lời Kinh Thánh đã dạy trong Galati 6 – “đang lúc có dịp tiện, hãy làm điều thiện cho mọi người, nhất là cho anh em chúng ta trong đức tin.”)
iv) The attribute of love because in 1 John 1:4:8 said “God is love.” (Một bản tánh nữa Chúa có và cũng ban cho c/ta đó là tình yêu không điều kiện vì chính ”… Đức Chúa Trời là sự yêu thương.”)
> The simple definition of love is self-giving for the benefits of others. (Định nghĩa đơn gỉan của tình yêu thương này là sự hy sinh chính từ bỏ mình đi cho ích lợi của những người khác.)
> It starts with God as He – “… demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8), (Bắt đầu từ Chúa khi Ngài “… tỏ lòng yêu thương Chúa đối với chúng ta, khi chúng ta còn là người có tội, thì Đấng Christ vì chúng ta chịu chết.”)
> And by this love attribute of God when we first love God in return, and second by loving others in the way God loves them. (Và bởi bản tánh yêu thương của Chúa ở trong c/ta, c/ta bắt đầu trước hết biết yêu Chúa và sau đó yêu tất cả những người Chúa yêu giống như vậy.)
> All of our obligations to God can be summarized in Matthew 22:37-38 – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Tất cả những bổn phận sống cho Chúa được tóm tắt trong 2 điều răn: “Ngươi hãy hết lòng, hết linh hồn, hết ý mà yêu mến Chúa, là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi... và Ngươi hãy yêu kẻ lân cận như mình.”)

a) Through the Bible we know God’s universal will to save the whole wide world, each individual unto Himself. (Qua Kinh Thánh, c/ta biết rõ được chương trình toàn cầu của Chúa là cứu cả dòng giống nhân lạoi, mỗi người trở lại với Ngài.)
> For that reason, God sent His Son, Who was Jesus to come into the world through the nation of Israel to die on the cross for our sins, so those who believe in Him can become God’s children and one day inherit His heavenly kingdom forever; and not to be thrown into hell. (Vì vậy mà Chúa sai Con một của Ngài đến thế gian, qua dòng dõi của dân tộc người Do Thái, chết trên cây thập tự chuộc tội cho c/ta, để nếu ai tin nhận Chúa sẽ được trở nên làm con cái Đức Chúa Trời và hưởng nước thiên đàng của Ngài một ngày.)
b) Through the Bible we know God’s will described in His commandments of how we should live as God’s children. (Qua Kinh Thánh, c/ta biết ý Chúa qua những mạng lệnh mà Ngài muốn c/ta phải sống thể nào là con cái Chúa.)
# 2 Timothy 3:16-17 lists four main purposes of the Bible in helping us how we should live, do you see them? “All Scripture (Bible) is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (Trong 2 Timôthê 3:16-17 có chép rõ 4 mục đích chính của Kinh Thánh cho đời sống của c/ta là gì? “Cả Kinh Thánh đều là bởi Đức Chúa Trời soi dẫn, có ích cho sự dạy dỗ, bẻ trách, sửa trị, dạy người trong sự công bình, 17 hầu cho người thuộc về Đức Chúa Trời được trọn vẹn và sắm sẵn để làm mọi việc lành.”)
> God gave the basic and amazing 10 commandments that do not change through times. (Chúa ban cho 10 điều răn căn bản và đầy đủ, không thay đổi để hướng dẫn c/ta cách sống.)

> Don’t you know more than 98% of life questions and issues have the answers in the Bible. (Bạn có biết là trên 98% các vấn đề khó khăn trong cuộc sống này đều có câu trả lời trong Kinh Thánh không?)

II. What Do You Do with the Bible?

> If a New Testament Christian said that I don’t need the Bible to know God, then I don’t believe that person is truly believes in God and saved, or that person faith is nothingness, because Romans 10:17 – “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” (Nếu một người cơ đốc trong thời Tân Ước mà nói rằng tôi sống không cần biết đến Kinh Thánh, thì thiết nghĩ người đó chưa tin Chúa thật, hay đức tin đã tàn héo, không só sức sống, bởi vì trong Rôma 10 có chép “Như vậy, đức tin đến bởi sự người ta nghe, mà người ta nghe, là khi lời của Đấng Christ được rao giảng.”)

(Hậu quả là họ cứ tiếp tục sống như những người dại dột, xa vào biết bao nhiêu những cám dỗ, khó khăn, đau thương; và chưa kinh nhgiệm được sự bình an của tâm hồn, sự tự do thật và sự vui mừng.)
> Are you living wisely? (Bạn có đang sống khôn ngoan không?)
> Will you commit to read and study the Bible daily? (Bạn có sẽ cam kết đọc và học lời Chúa mỗi ngày không?)

> By the Bible, we have the standards of how we should live here on earth?

> If you know how important the Bible is, but not reading, studying, and obeying it – would it make you to be wise?
# If you know there is a stock out there that is safe, legal, guarantee with interest rates of 100%, 200+% and charge nothing for the fee, then would you invest all your money in that stock?
> Then why you don’t spend any time with the wonderful words of God daily?
# When the storms come, will your faith stands because of the relationship with God through the knowledge of the Bible?
# When Jesus comes back will our faith please Him because it was established on the Bible?
# Don’t assume that once a week I come to church – that’s enough!
# Don’t let your Bible be dusty; read it, use it, apply it in every areas of life.
