(How Is the Bible Relevant to Our Daily Life?)

“Vì lời của Đức Chúa Trời là lời sống và
linh nghiệm, sắc hơn gươm hai lưỡi, thấu vào đến đỗi chia hồn, linh, cốt, tủy,
xem xét tư tưởng và ý định trong lòng.”
(For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper
than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit,
joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.)
> From the first sermon about the Bible series, we have learned that one of the main purposes why we need the Bible is that it can help us to know God fully, because the Bible is His words. (Từ bài giảng thứ nhất về Kinh Thánh, c/ta đã học biết một mục đích chính tại sao c/ta cần có Kinh Thánh, vì sách Kinh Thánh là lời của Đức Chúa Trời, giúp cho c/ta hiểu thấu được Ngài là ai.)
> The second sermon from last week shows us at least three evidences that the Bible is true and can be trusted: 1) It is written by eyewitnesses, 2) has a unique message, and 3) demonstrates a miraculous preservation by the Spirit of God. (Trong bài giảng thứ hai tuần vừa qua, c/ta biết được những chứng cớ rõ ràng lời Kinh Thánh là đúng thật và có thể tin cậy được, vì tối thiểu 3 dự kiện sau đây: 1) Viết xuống bởi những người chính mắt họ đã từng thấy, nghe và ở cùng với Chúa Giê-xu, 2) Kinh Thánh có một thông điệp thống nhất từ sách Sáng Thế Ký cho đến Khải Huyền, mà chỉ có Thánh Linh của Chúa duy nhất mới có thể cảm hóa mọi người viết xuống được như vậy, và 3) Sự duy trì và bảo tồn của Kinh Thánh là một phép lạ Chúa đã xếp đặt như vậy.)
> Today we end the series by answering the question - How can the Bible relate to our daily life? (Hôm nay c/ta sẽ kết thúc loạt bài giảng về Kinh Thánh bằng cách trả lời câu hỏi – Làm thế nào mà Kinh Thánh có sự liên hệ đến đời sống hằng ngày của mình?)
I. Countless Impacts
> There are countless examples of how the Bible makes deep impacts to many people’s lives through times. (Có rất nhiều thí dụ về Kinh Thánh, lời hằng sống của Chúa đã đụng chạm đến đời sống của vô số người mà không có thể nào đếm hết được.)
1) Let’s me quote for you the statements from some of the US presidents who were impacted by the Bible. (Trước hết cho phép tôi nhắc đến những lời chứng của một số những vị tổng thống Hoakỳ đã được Kinh Thánh tác động vào đời sống của mình như thế nào.)
# The first US president George Washington said – “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without the Bible.” (Tổng thống đầu tiên là George Washington đã nói: “C/ta không thể thống trị và cầm quyền cả thế giới một cách công bình mà không nhờ vào Kinh Thánh được.)
# The second president John Adam said – “The Bible is the best book in the world. It contains more than all the libraries I have seen.” (Tổng thống thứ hai là John Adam đã nói: “Kinh Thánh là cuốn sách tốt nhất trong thế giới. Nó chứa đựng nhiều sách hơn là tất cả những thư viện mà tôi đã biết.)
# The third president Thomas Jefferson said: “The Bible makes the best people in the world.”
# The 16th president Abraham Lincoln said – “But for this book we could not know right from wrong. I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man.” (Tổng thống thứ 16th là Abraham Lincoln đã nói: “Bởi Kinh Thánh mà c/ta có thể định đóan được điều nào đúng và sai. Tôi tin rằng Kinh Thánh là món quà quí nhất Đức Chúa Trời ban cho nhân loại [ở trên đất này].)
# The 26th president Theodore Roosevelt said: “No educated man can afford to be ignorant of the Bible.”
2) What’s about some of the world leaders & scientists? (Còn những người lãnh đạo thế giới khác và những nhà bác học thì nói gì?)
# William Gladstone who was a British Liberal politician. In a career lasting over 60 years, he served as Prime Minister four separate times, more than any other person, said – “I have known 95 great men of the world in my time, and of these, 87 were followers of the Bible.” (Nhà chính trị gia người Anh Quốc theo chủ nghĩa tự do tên William Gladstone, là người đã ở trong chức vụ “thủ tướng” đến 4 nhiệm kỳ đã một lần nói: “Trong chức vụ của tôi, tôi gặp và biết tất cả là 87 người tài giỏi trên thế giới, trong đó tôi nhận biết đã có 87 vị là những người kính sợ Chúa và sống theo lời Kinh Thánh.”)
# Michael Faraday, an English scientist who contributed to the study of electromagnetism and electrochemistry said: “Why will people go astray when they have this blessed book to guide them?”
3) I have heard many testimonies about the people who are saved in prison because reading a scripture on a page of Romans Bible that others used for wrapping food; others came to know Jesus by picking up a Christian tract at the train station; or even someone about to kill himself in a hotel, but saw a Bible, read it and changed his mind. (Tôi đã từng nghe những câu chuyện làm chứng của một người được cứu trong trại tù cải tạo vì đọc được lời Chúa trong những tờ Kinh Thánh người ta xé ra làm giấy gói đồ ăn; kẻ khác thì lượm được một tài liệu chứng đạo tại bến xe lửa, hay một người đã định vào một hotel để súng vào đầu sắp sửa tự tử nhưng thấy một cuốn Kinh Thánh mở ra, đọc và đã thay đổi ý định.)
4) What’s about Pastor Tam Connetto now serving as an interim pastor at New Orleans church that we know. (Chắc một số quí vị cũng biết MS Tâm Connetto.)
> He was a drug dealer on the way to deliver his merchandises carrying with him 2 guns; but someone invited him to church. (Ngày xưa ông là người buôn bán thuốc phiện và ma túy cần xa; có lần trên đường để giao hàng, mang trong người sẵn 2 khẩu súng, thì được một người mời đi nhà thờ.)
> After hearing the sermon, he repented his sins and came to the front confessed Jesus as His Lord and Savior. (Ông tò mò vào nghe thử, sao đó mà lời Chúa đụng vào lòng ông dẫn đến sự ăn năn, từ bỏ việc ác và bước đến tin nhận Cứu Chúa Giê-xu.)
> Many prisons now invite Pastor Connetto to come and speak to prisonners sharing his faith and conversion. (Mục Sư Connetto nay được mời đến nhiều những nhà tù khắc tiếng để làm chứng đức tin của mình về việc mà Chúa đã thay đổi cuộc đời của mình thế nào cho những tù nhân.)
5) Have you read stories of many life transforming as a part of the VCRM mission in Hanoi, Vietnam. (Quí vị chắc có nghe đến Mục vụ phục hồi của cơ quan Vietnamese Christian Restoration Mission)
> How God uses the preaching of His words to free, to break all chains of drug addictions of so many lives in the prisons that nothing could help them. (Chúa đã dùng lời giảng dạy của Kinh Thánh mà cứu thoát biết bao nhiêu ngàn người tù nhân khỏi xiềng xích của ma túy cần sa.)
# A book called “Transformed Lives” details some of the prisoner lives have been changed because of hearing the words of God preached to them. (Cô Thu Vân là Giám Đốc của mục vụ này vừa xuất bản cuốn sách “Những cuộc đời được biến đổi” làm chứng lại một vài trường hợp Chúa cứu họ như thế nào qua lời Ngài.)
> One of them is Nam Quoc Trung who now became a Christian, because someone has shared with him the words of the Bible that God loves him. (Một trong những người này là anh Nam Quốc Trung được giải cứu cũng vì lời chứng của một người khác ngày xưa cũng nghiên ngập nhưng được Chúa cứu và thay đổi cuộc đời của mình, và làm chứng lại cho anh Trung.)
> Like pastor Tam Connetto, pastor Trung now goes back in many drug addicted prisons in Hanoi to share the Good News and God continues to save thousands of souls for His kingdom. (Giống như MS Connetto, mục sư Trung bây giờ đi khắp các nhà tù cai nghiện ở Hà Nội, mở các cuộc truyền giảng và biết bao nhiêu ngàn người tiếp tục được giải cứu bởi quyền năng của Chúa qua sự nghe lời Kinh Thánh giảng ra.)

6) What’s about some of you and me, because no one can know us better than ourselves. (Còn bạn và tôi thì sao, cũng kinh nghiệm lời Chúa đã ảnh hưởng chính đời sống cá nhân của mình, phải không?)
> What addictions that Jesus has freed us? (Những nghiện ngập nào Chúa Giê-xu đã giải cứu mình?)
> What peace that we know through the words of God? (C/ta nay đang kinh nghiệm sự bình an gì qua sự học hỏi lời của Chúa?)
> What hope that we have through the promises of God in the Bible? (C/ta nay có sự trông cậy của những lời hứa về nước thiên đàng mà có chép trong Kinh Thánh, phải không?)
> We all have a story about how the words of God shape up our life and hope? (Mỗi người, ai trong c/ta cũng có “câu chuyện của đời mình” mà đã một lần Chúa dùng lời của Ngài dẫn c/ta đến sự ăn năn, và tiếp tục biến đổi cuộc đời của mình, phải không?)
> There is no question that the Bible is revelant to the all people, and the Spirit of God constantly uses it to convict and transform lives to the image of God’s Son who is Jesus Christ. (Không có thiếu những lời chứng của biết bao nhiêu người mà Đức Thánh Linh luôn dùng lời Kinh Thánh để cáo trách tội lỗi và biến đổi đời sống của những kẻ tin ngày càng giống như Con Đức Chúa Trời hơn.)
# Romans 10:17 truly presents the powerful impact of faith that is the word of God as - “… faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” (Trong sách Rôma 10:17 chép rõ về năng lực của lời Chúa – “Như vậy, đức tin đến bởi sự người ta nghe, mà người ta nghe, là khi lời của Đấng Christ được rao giảng.”)
> The Bible is universally related to everyone because we all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Kinh Thánh có sự liên hệ với mọi người trên thế gian này, vì mọi người đều đã phạm tội và thiếu mất sự vinh hiển của Đức Chúa Trời.)
> We all have the sin virus, that nothing can erase; but with the preaching and teaching of the Word, we find the cure, we see the light, we are no longer living in blindness heading to the eternal lake of fire called hell, but having hope to wait for the eternal life in heaven. (Mọi người c/ta ai nấy đều có con vi trùng tội lỗi mà không có gì có thể xóa đi được; nhưng nhờ lời giảng dạy của Kinh Thánh mà c/ta tìm được “thuốc chữa” nơi Cứu Chúa Giê-xu, c/ta thấy được ánh sáng, c/ta không còn bị mù quáng đang dẫn c/ta đến lửa địa ngục nữa, nhưng có hy vọng chờ đợi nước thiên đàng.)
# Psalm 119:130 – “The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” (“Sự bày giãi lời Chúa, soi sáng cho, ban sự thông hiểu cho người thật thà.”)
II. What’s about Me?
> But you still ask – what’s about me? I still don’t feel any relevant of God’s words to my daily life? (Nhưng một số người thì vẫn còn nghĩ lời Kinh Thánh không có liên hệ gì trong đời sống hằng ngày của mình? Tại sao vậy?)
> I give you 2 possible answers: (Tôi xin đưa ra tối thiểu 2 lý do:)
1) The Bible is not relevant to you maybe because it does not gratify your flesh desires? (Bạn nghĩ Kinh Thánh chưa có liên hệ gì hết trong đời sống mình có thể là bởi vì bạn chỉ đang tìm kiếm những điều làm thỏa mãn tự dục xác thịt của mình mà thôi?)
> If you are only looking for “comfort zones” then you would not understand the Bible principles that can lead you to a meaningful life and the hope for the life to come; As a result, you would not know how the Bible is relevant to you. (Nếu bạn chỉ đi tìm những điều làm cho đời sống mình được thỏai mái hay sung sướng mà thôi, thì bạn sẽ không thể hiểu được những đạo lý của Kinh Thánh dẫn đến ý nghĩa thật cho đời sống, và kết cuộc là bạn sẽ không thể thấy lời Chúa có sự liên hệ đến mình được.)
> You would not understand or relate to some of Bible teachings that our flesh has no desire of. (Bạn sẽ không thể hiểu những lời Kinh Thánh dạy vì những điều này thường đi nghịch lại với tư dục xác thịt của mình muốn.)
> Here are some examples: (Đây là vài thí dụ:)
a) Our flesh would not understand the command of Jesus in Matthew 16:24 telling us to risk our life, carry our cross, and follow Him – “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” (Trong Mathiơ 16, Chúa Giê-xu gọi c/ta làm gì mà chắc chắc xác thịt của mình không muốn? “Nếu ai muốn theo Ta, thì phải liều mình, vác thập tự giá mình mà theo Ta.”)
b) Philippians 2:3 teaches a relational principle that our flesh nature would not want to do – “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,” (Trong Philíp 2:3 dạy gì mà bản tánh tư dục xác thịt của c/ta không thể nào liên hệ được? “Chớ làm sự chi vì lòng tranh cạnh hoặc vì hư vinh, nhưng hãy khiêm nhường, coi người khác như tôn trọng hơn mình.”)
c) Matthew 5:43-44 teaches an opposite of the flesh natural reaction - “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” (Trong Mathiơ 5, Chúa Giê-xu dạy gì về sự tha thứ là điều đi nghịch với bản tánh xác thịt - “Các ngươi có nghe lời phán rằng: Hãy yêu người lân cận, và hãy ghét kẻ thù nghịch mình. 44 Song ta nói cùng các ngươi rằng: Hãy yêu kẻ thù nghịch, và cầu nguyện cho kẻ bắt bớ các ngươi,”)
> Many people would never “taste” the relevant peace, until they understand and obey this principle of forgiving our enemies that God teaches in His words and demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son. (Vô số người sẽ chẳng bao giờ kinh nghiệm được sự bình an liên hệ với lời dạy dỗ của Kinh Thánh cho đến khi c/ta bằng lòng tha thứ cho kẻ thù của mình, theo như lời Chúa dạy.)
> You cannot see the relevant of the Bible in your daily living until you allow your mind to be renewed by the words of God with new thougths and attitudes. (Bạn sẽ không thể thấy Kinh Thánh có liên hệ gì đến đời sống mình, cho đến khi nào tâm thầm và ý tưởng của c/ta được đổi mới bởi lời Kinh Thánh.)
# Romans 12:2 Paul said – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Trong Rôma 12:2 sứ đồ Phaolô nói rõ về sự đổi mới này – “Đừng làm theo đời nầy, nhưng hãy biến hóa bởi sự đổi mới của tâm thần mình, để thử cho biết ý muốn tốt lành, đẹp lòng và trọn vẹn của Đức Chúa Trời là thể nào.”)
> What are some of the steps in this renewal of our mind? (Có những bước nào trong tiến trình biến đổi của tâm thần?)
# Titus 3:5-6 mentioned 2 basic steps – “God saved us… through (1) the washing of rebirth and (2) renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,” (Trong Tít 3, Phaolô nói đến 2 bước chính: “Chúa cứu c/ta… bởi sự rửa về sự lại sanh và sự đổi mới của Đức Thánh Linh mà Ngài đã rải ra trên chúng ta cách dư dật bởi Đức Chúa Jêsus Christ.”)
> Paul taught Titus that we must first be born again (spiritual rebirth by God’s grace through faith), but that is not the end; it then must begin the process of renewal of mind, thoughts, attitudes, and will. (Phaolô dạy Tít rằng c/ta phải trước hết được sanh lại bởi ân điển Chúa, nhưng chưa hết mà bắt đầu phải được đổi mới biến hóa bởi quyền năng của Chúa Thánh Linh.)
> How does the Spirit of God do that? (Thần Linh của Chúa làm cách nào?)
> The author of Hebrews compares the words of God as a sharp double-edged sword that the Holy Spirit uses in this mind renewal process - “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Tác gỉa Hêbêrơ diễn tả Thánh Linh dùng gì để biến hóa tâm thần của c/ta? “Vì lời của Đức Chúa Trời là lời sống và linh nghiệm, sắc hơn gươm hai lưỡi, thấu vào đến đỗi chia hồn, linh, cốt, tủy, xem xét tư tưởng và ý định trong lòng.”)
> What does it mean a “double-edged” sword? (“Gươm sắc hai lưỡi” nghĩa là sao?
# It means that it can cut both ways: inside and outside and in all directions. (Nghĩa là nó có thể cắt cả hai chiều, phần bên trong và cả lẫn bên ngoài.)
> By the alive and active word of God, the Holy Spirit uses it to convict the inside people’s heart of sin and righteousness, lead them to repentance and trust in Jesus. (Bởi lời sống và linh nghiệm, Chúa Thánh Linh dùng để cáo trách tội lỗi thầm kín bên trong của một người, mà dẫn họ đến sự ăn năn tội và tiếp nhận Cứu Chúa Giê-xu.)
# John 16:7-9 – Jesus decribed this important role of the Holy Spirit – “But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When He comes, He will prove (convict) the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;” (Trong Giăng 16, Chúa Giê-xu nói rõ về vai trò này của Thánh Linh – “Dầu vậy, ta nói thật cùng các ngươi: Ta đi là ích lợi cho các ngươi; vì nếu ta không đi, Đấng Yên ủi sẽ không đến cùng các ngươi đâu; song nếu ta đi, thì ta sẽ sai Ngài đến. 8 Khi Ngài đến thì sẽ khiến thế gian tự cáo về tội lỗi, về sự công bình và về sự phán xét.”)
> The Holy Spirit uses the words of God liked a “sharp double-edged sword” to cut into the heart of men, that nothing can enter, convicts of our sins of greed and self-pride, and brings us to our knees for repentance. (Chúng ta có thể đụng đến thể xác, nhưng không ai đi vào được bên trong tấm lòng của một người là chỗ kín dấu; Nhưng Thánh Linh Chúa dùng Kinh Thánh như một gươm hai lưỡi bén cắt vào lòng để cáo trách những tội lỗi tham lam và kiêu ngạo, và đem mọi người đến sự ăn năn.)
# The Holy Spirit likes a great Physician with a sharp knife cutting through our body to remove all the “cancer cells of sins” before our mind can begin to be renewed. (Đức Thánh Linh như một vị Bác sĩ tài ba với con dao sắc bén cắt vào tấm lòng của một người để tẩy trừ đi những con vi trùng ung thư của tội lỗi, trước khi Chúa bắt đầu đổi mới ý tưởng và tâm thần của một người.)
> The Holy Spirit uses the Bible to turn us inside out and makes us to see ourselves for who we really are – sinners and the need to be saved. (Thánh Linh Chúa dùng lời Kinh Thánh để phô bày cho c/ta thấy rõ được mình là ai, là những kẻ tội nhân cần Chúa cứu.)
# That was happened to me in December 1981 when nothing in the world at that time could penetrate my heart, except the words of the Gospel in that night Christmas service brought me to my knees, confessing Jesus is my Lord and Savior.
> There is no heart is too tough for God’s words to cut in; no mind too hard for the Bible to penetrate. (Không có một tấm lòng nào qúa cứng cỏi mà lời Chúa không cắt vào được; cũng không có một tâm thần nào quá ngoan cố bướng bỉnh mà lời Kinh Thánh không đâm thủng được.)
> After removing the power of sin inside our heart, the Holy Spirit uses the powerful words in the Bible to renew our thoughts and attitudes, because these 2 things are the “fundamental cores” to produce a lifestyle and behaviors shown to the outside. (Sau khi trừ diệt quyền lực của tội lỗi ở trong lòng c/ta, Thánh Linh tiếp tục dùng lời Chúa để biến đổi tâm thầm bên trong của một người, những ý tưởng và thái độ sống của họ, vì bởi 2 điều này mà nếp sống và cách cư xử bên ngoài của c/ta sẽ ra như thế nào.)
> Why do we act and live a certain way? (Lối sống mỗi ngày của c/ta từ đâu mà có?)
> It depends on what kind of thoughts and reasoning we have inside our mind. (Tất cả là tùy thuộc vào những ý tưởng gì c/ta chứa ở bên trong đầu óc của mình mà từ đó sanh ra những hành động bên ngoài.)
# Why does a person steal and cheat? Because of the greediness thought inside his mind. (Tại sao một người hay ăn cắp? Tại vì trong lòng của họ đầy dẫy ý của sự tham lam tiền bạc và của cải.)
# Why does a person commit a sin of adultery? Because his mind is constantly fed by sexual images, we called today pornography that affetcs 4 out of 10 men and women. (Tại sao một người thích phạm tội tà dâm? Cũng vì trong lòng của họ đầy những ý tưởng dâm dục nuôi bởi những hình ảnh ô dâm.)
# Why does a person like to gossip about another people? Because in his/her heart has jealousy. (Tại sao một người hay nói xấu kẻ khác, cũng vì trong lòng đầy dẫy những ý của sự ghen tương mà thôi.)
> The Holy Spirit uses the powerful words of God to remove these old thoughts and attitudes and replace with the principles of Bible truths. (Thánh Linh cất lấy đi những ý tưởng và thái độ của con người cũ và thế vào đó những nguyên tắc của đạo có chép trong Kinh Thánh.)
> Do you know the basic principle of the Bible? It is the principle of love. (Bạn có biết nguyên tắc căn bản của lời Chúa dạy là gì không? Đó là tình yêu thương.)
# Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus summarized this principle – “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Trong Mathiơ 22, Chúa Giê-xu tóm tắt định luật căn bản này – “Ngươi hãy hết lòng, hết linh hồn, hết ý mà yêu mến Chúa, là Đức Chúa Trời ngươi. 38 Ấy là điều răn thứ nhất và lớn hơn hết. 39 Còn điều răn thứ hai đây, cũng như vậy: Ngươi hãy yêu kẻ lân cận như mình. 40 Hết thảy luật pháp và lời tiên tri đều bởi hai điều răn đó mà ra.)
> You haven’t understood why the Bible is not relevant to your life because you are still pursuing the fleshly desires, and have not allowed the Holy Spirit to cut into your heart, get rid the cancer of sin, and replace it with the Bible teachings of the words of God. (Bạn vẫn còn thấy Kinh Thánh chưa có sự liên hệ gì đến đời sống của mình cũng vì bạn chỉ tìm kiếm những điều của tự dục xác thịt đòi hỏi, nhưng chưa để Thánh Linh lấy lời Chúa như gươm sắc bén, mà cắt đi những con vi trùng của tội lỗi bên trong lòng, và thay thế vào đó những giáo lý của đạo, mà sẽ thay đổi ý tưởng và thái độ cũ của mình; từ đó sanh ra một đời sống công bình đẹp lòng Chúa và mọi người.)
2) The second reason why you haven’t found the Bible is relevant to your life maybe because you have not willing to obey what the Bible teaches? (Lý do thứ hai bạn chưa thấy Kinh Thánh có liên hệ đến đời sống của mình là vì bạn chưa chịu vâng lời làm theo lời Kinh Thánh dạy.)
# If I tell you “Bao” restaurant is the best Vietnamese food in Baton Rouge; but if you have never stepped inside and tried their cookings, you would never know what best about this restaurant, you would not have any relevant experience with the taste of this restaurant?

# I often ask - How many of us before come to church this morning already pray: “Lord! Teach me your words today; Let it cut into my heart and transform my life; I am ready to obey you by your words?” or thinking that all the things I hear today is only applied for the person sits next to me? (Có bao nhiêu người trong c/ta trước khi vào nhóm sáng nay đã thầm cầu nguyện: “Xin Chúa dạy con lời của Ngài hôm nay. Xin lời Ngài xuyên thấu, cắt vào lòng con, và cứ tiếp tục biến đổi tâm thần của con. # It’s so sad that some people just go to church only once a week and that is the only time they listen to the scriptures and pray; They even skip Sunday school; come to worship late; allow the cell phone distracting them during the service, and hurry to do other activities even before the invitation, and keep wondering: “Why I don’t see how the Bible is relevant to me?” (Điều đáng buồn, có người đi nhà thờ có thể chỉ là lúc họ nghe lời Chúa mỗi tuần một lần mà thôi, không chịu đi học Kinh Thánh Chúa Nhật; mà đến thờ phượng cũng hay trễ, mong về sớm, vào nhóm thì để cái máy Iphone làm mình bị lo ra, chưa xong nhóm đến phần kêu gọi thì đã lo vội vã đi dự những sinh hoạt khác, để rồi cứ tự hỏi: “Tại sao tôi không thấy lời Chúa có liên hệ gì trong đời sống của mình hết?”)
> There are 2 kinds of lessons that can help us to find out if the Bible, God’s words is relevant: easy lesson by reading the Bible everyday and applying to our daily life, or hard lesson and that is when God sometimes has to bring us down to the valley of suffering for us to experience the relevant of His words, because the Bible is not dead letters but it is alive, active, and powerful. > Too often, many Christians just “go to church” without experiencing the impacts of the alive, active and powerful words of God.
> They have wasted the opportunities of taking advantages of Sunday school time, in-home Bible studies and personal Bible reading everyday.
> There are so many times we come to church, listening to the words, but we are stubborn, not allowing the Holy Spirit to use the truths to cut into our heart and renew our mind; as a result, as we come in the church, we come out the same person.
> And when we face with life problems and temptations, we could not find solutions, strength, or advices to overcome.
> And we keep doubting why God’s words are not revelant to our daily life.
> Do you want to change that today?
> We need to allow the Holy Spirit to renew our mind with God’s words so that we can truly experience He Himself through His words is relevant in every moment of our life.
> We must allow the Holy Spirit to use God’s words the Bible as a double-edged sword to do a complete surgery both inside and outside of our heart and life.
> If we allow Him, the Holy Spirit will fix our bodies and minds, so that we can have…
• a new face that would reflect the joy of being saved;
• a new mind that would be cleared off all the guilt and shame of the past;
• new lips that would give thanks and praise God;
• new feet that would walk with God to spread the goodnews;
• a new heart that would beat with God’s love for others;
• and new hands that would serve others with good works in Jesus’ name.
> Are we ready for God the Spirit begin the transformation in us using the double-edged sword that is the words of God, the Bible?
