(Waiting for the Return of King Jesus)
1 Têsalônica 4:13-18
“Hỡi anh em, chúng tôi chẳng muốn anh em không biết về phần người đã ngủ, hầu cho anh em chớ buồn rầu như người khác không có sự trông cậy. 14 Vì nếu chúng ta tin Đức Chúa Jêsus đã chết và sống lại, thì cũng vậy, Đức Chúa Trời sẽ đem những kẻ ngủ trong Đức Chúa Jêsus cùng đến với Ngài. 15 Vả, nầy là điều chúng tôi nhờ lời Chúa mà rao bảo cho anh em: chúng ta là kẻ sống, còn ở lại cho đến kỳ Chúa đến, thì không lên trước những người đã ngủ rồi. 16 Vì sẽ có tiếng kêu lớn và tiếng của thiên sứ lớn cùng tiếng kèn của Đức Chúa Trời, thì chính mình Chúa ở trên trời giáng xuống; bấy giờ những kẻ chết trong Đấng Christ, sẽ sống lại trước hết. 17 Kế đến chúng ta là kẻ sống, mà còn ở lại, sẽ cùng nhau đều được cất lên với những người ấy giữa đám mây, tại nơi không trung mà gặp Chúa, như vậy chúng ta sẽ ở cùng Chúa luôn luôn. 18 Thế thì, anh em hãy dùng lời đó mà yên ủi nhau.”
I. Misunderstanding the Meaning of Christmas
> December is here. (Tháng Chạp đã đến với c/ta.)
> It reminds us the most joyful holiday of the year – Christmas. (Mỗi lần tháng Chạp đến, nó lại nhắc mỗi c/ta về một mùa lễ vui nhộn nhất trong năm – đó là lễ Giáng Sinh.)
> But the sad thing is that… many people celebrate Christmas but they don’t understand its true meaning. (Nhưng điều đáng tiếc đó là nhiều người ăn mừng Giáng Sinh, nhưng lại không hiểu ý nghĩa thật của đại lễ này.)
# They only focus on shopping and buying gifts, opportunities to get good deals, feasting, decorations, watching football… (Họ chỉ biết lo đi sắm sửa, ăn uống, tụ họp vui chơi, trang trí, xem những trận đấu banh mà thôi.)
> This is one of the wisest distractions that the devil uses to lure the world away from God, especially to those living in a rich and prosperous country liked America. (Đây cũng là một trong những mưu kế khéo léo nhất của ma quỉ làm cho thiên hạ bị lo ra chỉ trong những điều thuộc thể này, mà quên đi ý nghĩa thuộc linh, nhất là ở trong những đất nước giàu có như nước Hoa kỳ này.)
> What is the true meaning of Christmas? (Ý nghĩa thật của Giáng Sinh là gì?)
> It is the celebration of the beginning of God’s plan of salvation given to mankind, as foretold in the Old Testament prophecies many years before. (Giáng Sinh chính là ngày lễ kỷ niệm bước đầu tiên của chương trình cứu chuộc của Chúa ban cho nhân laọi, mà đã được nói trước qua những lời tiên tri cả nhiều năm trước đó.)
1) Christmas is connected with the first prophecy mentioned and fulfilled in Genesis 3:14-15 after Adam & Eve sinned – “So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Giáng Sinh có liên quan đến lời tiên tri đầu tiên đã được ứng nghiệm có chép trong Sáng thế Ký 3 sau khi Ađam & Êva phạm tội – “Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời bèn phán cùng rắn rằng: Vì mầy đã làm điều như vậy, mầy sẽ bị rủa sả trong vòng các loài súc vật, các loài thú đồng, mầy sẽ bò bằng bụng và ăn bụi đất trọn cả đời. Ta sẽ làm cho mầy cùng người nữ, dòng dõi mầy cùng dòng dõi người nữ nghịch thù nhau. Người sẽ giày đạp đầu mầy, còn mầy sẽ cắn gót chân người.”)
> The offspring of the woman here was a Savior, Who would be born to save the world from the judgment and punishment of sins. (Dòng dõi người nữ này chính là Đấng Cứu Thế sau này sẽ đến thế gian, để cứu nhân laọi ra khỏi sự đóan xét và sự trừng phạt của tội lỗi.)
> He came to bring the reconciliation between sinful men and holy God. (Ngài đến đem sự hòa giải lại giữa tội nhân và Đức Chúa Trời thánh khiết vẹn toàn.)
2) Over 4,000 years after this prophecy was said and at the right time, a virgin named Mary gave birth to a son; He was called the Son of God, the Savior of the world. (Vào đúng thời điểm, sau lời tiên tri đầu tiên này khoãng 4,000 năm thì một người trinh nữ tên Mari đã thụ thai sanh một đứa con trai; được gọi là Con Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng Cứu Chuộc cho cả nhân laọi.)
# Galatians 4:4-5 – “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” (Trong sách Galati chép rõ – “Nhưng khi kỳ hạn đã được trọn, Đức Chúa Trời bèn sai Con Ngài bởi một người nữ sanh ra, sanh ra dưới luật pháp, để chuộc những kẻ ở dưới luật pháp, và cho chúng ta được làm con nuôi Ngài.”)
> The birthday of that born Child later became Christ-mas day tradition, because His name was called Jesus Christ. (Ngày sanh của đứa trẻ đó sau này trở nên ngày lễ Giáng Sinh (Christmas), vì danh xưng của Chúa là Christ.)
> Christmas is the celebration of the birthday of the world Savior. (Giáng Sinh là ngày kỷ niệm sinh nhật của Đấng Cứu Thế cho cả nhân loại.)
3) But Christmas is MORE than the birthday of Jesus. (Nhưng ý nghĩa thật của sự Giáng Sinh còn hơn thế nữa.)
> The full meaning of Christmas should also include His mission to this world; and that mission was that Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins. (Ý nghĩa Giáng Sinh còn phải gắn liền với sứ mạng tại sao Chúa Giê-xu sanh ra đời để làm gì? Chúa sanh ra đời để chết trên cây thập tự chuộc tội cho c/ta.)
> Christmas reminds the purpose of His birth was not to live, but to die on the cross, redeeming us – meaning to set us free from the power of sins and to reconcile us back to God. (Giáng Sinh nhắc c/ta Chúa sanh ra đời không phải để sống, nhưng để chết trên cây thập tự hầu cho ai tin Ngài thì có sự sống đời đời trong nước thiên đàng.)
II. The Signs of Jesus Coming Back Soon
> We must recognize that Christmas is a past event, happened once and never occurred again. (C/ta phải nhận thức rằng sự Giáng Sinh của Chúa Cứu Thế là một sự kiện đã xảy ra trong quá khứ, chỉ một lần thôi và không bao giờ xảy ra nữa.)
> And we cannot just hold on to the past; But we need to look forward in the future for His promise to come back the second time, and to give the eternal inheritance of God’s heavenly kingdom to those who believe. (C/ta không thể nào cứ ôm chặt lấy quá khứ mà thôi; nhưng phải hướng đến tương lai về lời hứa của Chúa sẽ trở lại lần nữa, để ban cho cơ nghiệp thiên đàng đời đời cho những ai dám tin nhận danh Ngài.)
> As much joy we celebrate Christmas (which is a past event) each year, there must be much more joy that we should have to wait for the Lord’s return – the coming and greater event. (Như c/ta có sự tưng bừng đón Giáng Sinh mỗi năm là sự kiện đã xảy ra trong quá khứ, c/ta phải còn vui mừng hớn hở hơn, chờ đón Chúa Giáng Sinh trở lại lần nữa.)
> An important question that we need to know, so our joy can be completed is “When will Jesus return?” (Một câu hỏi quan trọng c/ta nên biết để sự vui mừng c/ta được trọn vẹn đó là câu hỏi: “Khi nào thì Chúa Giê-xu trở lại đây?”)
1) First, we know that Jesus promised of His return. (Thứ nhất, c/ta biết rõ Chúa sẽ trở lại vì đó là lời Ngài đã hứa.)
# In John 14:1-3, Jesus once said – “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (Trong Giăng 14:1-3 chép lời Chúa hứa – “Lòng các ngươi chớ hề bối rối; hãy tin Đức Chúa Trời, cũng hãy tin ta nữa. Trong nhà Cha ta có nhiều chỗ ở; bằng chẳng vậy, ta đã nói cho các ngươi rồi. Ta đi sắm sẵn cho các ngươi một chỗ. Khi ta đã đi, và sắm sẵn cho các ngươi một chỗ rồi, ta sẽ trở lại đem các ngươi đi với ta, hầu cho ta ở đâu thì các ngươi cũng ở đó.”)
> We wait for the return of Jesus simply because He promised so. (C/ta chờ đón Chúa trở lại vì đó chính là lời Ngài đã hứa.)
# Do the gods you are trusting have any promises of their return to rescue you? (Các thần mà bạn đang tin cậy có hứa sẽ trở lại để cứu bạn không?)
# After the flood, anh Vu checked with the GuideOne Insurance company right away to see if they would cover our lost? (Sau khi cơn lụt lớn, chấp sự Vũ liên lạc với hãng bảo hiểm GuideOne ngay để xem coi họ có bồi thường nhà thờ với những thiệt hại không?)
> Well, they sent us back the policy that said no cover for flood damage, only hurricanes. (Họ liền gởi lại cho c/tôi giấy giao kèo và trong đó nói không có bảo tồn lụt, chỉ khi bị giông bão mà thôi.)
> I told anh Vu, we need to pray for a hurricane to come now… (Tôi nói đùa với anh Vũ, mình cần cầu nguyện cho một cơn bão lớn đến ngay.)
> We did not get cover for flood because the policy did not state it. (Điểm cần hiểu ở đây đó là nhà thờ c/ta không được bồi thường lụt vì trong giao kèo không có nói.)
> If your gods did not promise anything about their return to save you, then you are hopeless! (Nếu các thần của bạn đang tin mà không hứa gì về sự trở lại để cứu bạn, thì thật bạn đang sống trong sự thất vọng mà thôi.)
> But we, Christians wait for Jesus’ return because He Himself promised that, and Jesus cannot lie. (Nhưng người cơ đốc thì chờ đợi Chúa Giê-xu trở lại vì chính Ngài hứa như vậy, và Chúa không thể nói dối được.)
2) Although, Jesus promised of His return, but no one would know the day or the hour. (Mặc dầu Chúa Giê-xu hứa trở lại, nhưng không một ai biết được ngày và giờ.)
# In Matthew 24:36, Jesus said – “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Trong Mathiơ 24 – “Về ngày và giờ đó, chẳng có ai biết chi cả, thiên sứ trên trời hay là Con cũng vậy, song chỉ một mình Cha biết mà thôi.”)
> In the past many have tried to predict the day of Jesus’ return. (Trong lịch sử của loài người, vô số người đã thử tiên đoán ngày Chúa trở lại.)
a) Jehovah Witness once predicted the day of Jesus’ return was on October 1874 – didn’t come true, so they later changed to 1914; but it didn’t happen. (Đạo Tháp Canh đã có lần tiên đoán ngày Chúa trở lại là tháng 10, 1874, sau đó đổi lại 1914; nhưng trật lất, từ đó đến nay đã hơn 100 năm.)
b) On March 26, 1997, the Heaven gate group total of 39 people quited their jobs, weared same clothes, and all committed suicide, because they believed that Jesus would return to take them away if they could catch a spaceship trailing the Hale-Bopp comet; it didn’t happen. (Nhóm “Cửa Thiên Đàng” tổng cộng 39 người, vào tháng Ba ngày 26 năm 1997, đã có lần bán nhà cửa, mặc quần áo và rồi hết thảy tự sát, vì tiên đóan Chúa Giê-xu trở lại, mà nếu họ bắt kịp chiếc tàu hỏa tiễn theo sau một sao chổi thì sẽ gặp Ngài; Điều này chỉ là cuồng tín, luống công và thiệt mạng vô ích mà thôi.)
c) Few years ago, there was a Vietnamese pastor said he had a dream that Jesus appeared to him three times and revealed to him the day of His return; He wrote a letter, even to president Bush to warn him this; it didn’t happen. (Vài năm trước đây có một vị mục sư Việtnam nói rằng Chúa Giê-xu đã hiện ra với ông 3 lần trong giấc mộng, cho ông biết ngày Chúa trở lại; ông viết thư cho nhiều người biết (tôi cũng nhận được), kể cả đến tổng thống Bush nữa; nhưng ngày đó đã trôi qua.)
> These are false prophets because they did not heed the words of Jesus. (Đây chỉ là những tiên tri gỉa vì đã không chịu tin theo lời của Chúa đã nói mà thôi.)
3) But there will be signs on earth and in heaven leading to the end of time, not the day or the hour. (Sẽ có những dấu hiệu lạ trên trời và sự kiện lớn xảy ra dưới đất… dẫn đến thời kỳ sau rốt, chứ không phải ngày và giờ Chúa trở lại.)
a) The first sign already fulfilled was about the “fig tree” as said in Matthew 24:32 – “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near.” (Dấu hiệu đầu tiên đã được ứng nghiệm đó là về “cây vả trổ bông” có chép trong Mathiơ 24:32.)
> The fig tree in the Bible is the symbol of the Jewish nation. ("Cây vả" thường biểu hiệu cho chính dân Do Thái.)
> The tender twigs of the fig tree represents the independence of Jewish nation occurred in 1948, after more than 2,000 years of their lost identity. (Một dấu hiệu “cây vả nẩy mầm non” đó là khi dân Do Thái sau khi bị mất nước và tản lạc khắp nơi, từ đời của đế quốc Babylôn ~605 B.C… cho đến khi họ tái lập quốc vào năm 1948, để ứng nghiệm lời tiên tri này mà Chúa Giê-xu đã nói đến.)
b) The second sign is the rise of false prophets and false christs who will appear with many great signs, as mentioned by Jesus in Matthew 24:4-5 - “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.” (Dấu hiệu thứ hai là sự xuất hiện của các giáo sư gỉa & christ gỉa, như có chép trong Mathiơ 24:4-5 – “Đức Chúa Jêsus đáp rằng: Hãy giữ, kẻo có kẻ dỗ dành các ngươi. Vì nhiều người sẽ mạo danh ta đến mà nói rằng: Ta là Đấng Christ; và sẽ dỗ dành nhiều người.”)
> Do you surely know the truth in God’s word to recognize and avoid the traps of these false teachers who are wolves wearing sheep’s clothing? (Bạn đang có lẽ thật của lời Chúa trong lòng không, để nhận diện ra và tránh khỏi những cạm bẫy lường gạt của những tiên tri gỉa này đang len lỏi đội lốt chiên trong thời kỳ sau rốt không?)
c) Wars, pestilences and great distress will come, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again, as said in Matthew 24:6-8/21 – “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Dấu hiệu chiến tranh, hoạn nạn lớn sẽ nổi lên, mà từ khi mới có trời đất cho đến bây giờ chưa từng có như vậy, mà sau nầy cũng không hề có nữa.)
# Wars are everywhere in the world; even in US since September 11, 2001, we have a new enemy, now called ISIS. (Chiến tranh xảy ra nhiều nơi trên thế giới; kể cả tại Hoa Kỳ từ tháng 9, ngày 11, 2001, c/ta có một kẻ thù mới, với tên là ISIS.)
d) Terrible persecutions will happen near the end time; even here in US we see many people are hostile/hate to Christians, and at the same time, many Christians’ heart for the Lord grow cold and weak, as said in Matthew 24:9-10 - “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other.” (Sẽ có sự bắt bớ lớn của những kẻ tin, như Chúa Giê-xu đã nói – “người ta sẽ nộp các ngươi trong sự hoạn nạn và giết đi; các ngươi sẽ bị mọi dân ghen ghét vì danh ta. Khi ấy cũng có nhiều kẻ sẽ sa vào chước cám dỗ, phản nghịch, và ghen ghét nhau.”)
> Is your heart growing cold for the love of God? Will you stand firm on your faith until the end? (Bạn và tôi có sẽ đứng vững vàng trên đức tin của mình ở giữa những áp lực này không?)
e) In Matthew 24:14, Jesus mentioned another important sign – “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” (Trong Mathiơ 24:14 – Chúa Giê-xu nói đến một dấu hiệu quan trọng nữa – “Tin Lành nầy về nước Đức Chúa Trời sẽ được giảng ra khắp đất, để làm chứng cho muôn dân. Bấy giờ sự cuối cùng sẽ đến.”)
> With the communication technologies today through the Internet & Wi-Fi, the worldwide Gospel spreading can happen. (Với kỹ thuật điện toán và Internet ngày hôm nay, điều này có thể xảy ra được.)
f) Not just on earth, but there will also be signs from heaven, as said in Matthew 24:29-30 - “Immediately after the distress of those days - ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.” (Không phải dưới đất mà thôi, nhưng còn có những dấu hiệu lạ ở trên trời nữa, như có chép trong Mathiơ 24:29-30 – “Sự tai nạn của những ngày đó vừa mới qua, thì mặt trời liền tối tăm, mặt trăng không sáng, các ngôi sao từ trên trời sa xuống, và thế lực của các từng trời rúng động. Khi ấy, điềm Con người sẽ hiện ra ở trên trời, mọi dân tộc dưới đất sẽ đấm ngực, và thấy Con người lấy đại quyền đại vinh ngự trên mây trời mà xuống.”)
> Although we do not know the day and the hour, we can “smell” the time of the end, based on the signs are happening around us today. (Mặc dầu tôi không biết ngày và giờ, nhưng tôi có thể “ngửi” mùi của thời kỳ cuối cùng sắp đến, khi nhìn thấy những dấu hiệu đang xảy ra trước mắt.)
# Many times, I come home from work, I can smell the food my wife cooks; I know what it is, but I don’t know when it will be ready. (Nhiều ngày tôi đi làm về, ngửi mùi nấu ăn của vợ tôi; tôi biết cô đang nấu món gì, nhưng tôi không biết món ăn đó có đã sẵn sàng chưa.)
> Jesus can return anytime, just be ready. (Chúa Giê-xu có thể trở lại bất cứ lúc nào, bạn và tôi chỉ hãy sẵn sàng mà thôi.)
III. The Church Rapture
> One last question we need to know to stand firm on our eternal hope – “What happen to the moment when Jesus returns the second time?” (Một câu hỏi nữa c/ta cần biết để đứng vững trong sự trông cậy của mình – “Sự kiện Chúa Giê-xu trở lại lần nữa sẽ xảy ra như thế nào?”)
1) Jesus’ return will happen suddenly and unexpectedly. (Chúa đến sẽ bất thình lình vào lúc thế giới không ngờ.)
# Luke 12:40 Jesus warned – “You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” (Trong Luca 12:40 – “Các ngươi cũng vậy, hãy chực cho sẵn sàng, vì Con người sẽ đến trong giờ các ngươi không ngờ.”)
> When Jesus comes again, there will be no e-mail or text sent ahead, just a loud trumpet sound. (Khi Chúa đến sẽ không có e-mail hay text gởi báo trước, nhưng chỉ tiếng kèn lớn của Chúa.)
# With the communication technology today, liked instant messages and facetime, audible sounds can be heard in less than few seconds and all most any where in the world if you have cell phones. (Với kỹ thuật truyền thông tối tân ngày nay, thì tiếng lớn nào cũng có thể nghe được ở bất cứ chỗ nào, nếu bạn có máy cell phone.)
# In 1 Thesalonica 5:2 the apostle Paul compared this sudden appearance of Jesus liked a thieft in the night – “for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” (Lời của sứ đồ Phiêrơ so sánh sự Chúa Giê-xu đến sẽ bất ngờ như một kẻ trộm cậy cửa vào nhà ăn cắp lúc mình không ngờ.)
# Cách đây vài năm… nhà tôi bị ăn trộm trong lúc tôi đang đi làm.
>Tôi nhớ rõ - tên ăn trộm không có gọi báo cho tôi biết trước là nó sẽ ăn trộm nhà mình; chỉ có bà cảnh sát gọi tôi... sau khi ăn trộm đã vào và đi mất rồi.
2) Jesus’ return will happen quickly and there is no more time to prepare. (Không phải bất ngờ mà thôi, nhưng sự Chúa Giê-xu hiện đến sẽ là một sự kiện nhanh chóng/đột ngột mà không ai còn có thì giờ để ăn năn và sửa soạn được nữa.)
# 1 Côr. 15:51-52 Paul said – (Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.) “Nầy là sự mầu nhiệm tôi tỏ cho anh em: Chúng ta không ngủ hết, nhưng hết thảy đều sẽ biến hóa, trong giây phút, trong nháy mắt, lúc tiếng kèn chót; vì kèn sẽ thổi, kẻ chết đều sống lại được không hay hư nát, và chúng ta đều sẽ biến hóa.”
> You will not have any time to search the Bible, call the pastor, or seek for counseling any more. (Ngày Chúa trở lại như "chớp mắt" nghĩa là nhanh chóng, đột ngột… mà không ai còn có thì giờ để tìm đọc Kinh Thánh, hay để gọi điện thoại ông mục sư (Ỗng lúc đó được cất lên mây rồi và ở với Chúa), hay có thì giờ chào "vĩnh biệt" với nhau nữa.)
> So do not delay to trust Christ, do not procrastinate to repent your sins today. (Vậy thì bạn chớ trì hoãn, ỷ y, chậm trễ nữa, mà hối tiếc sao?)
3) Then Jesus Himself will appear in the clouds. (Chính Chúa Giê-xu sẽ hiện ra trên mây.)
# 1 Thesalonica 4:16 Paul said – “For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” (Trong 1 Têsalônica, sứ đồ Phaolô nói – “Vì sẽ có tiếng kêu lớn và tiếng của thiên sứ lớn cùng tiếng kèn của Đức Chúa Trời, thì chính mình Chúa ở trên trời giáng xuống; bấy giờ những kẻ chết trong Đấng Christ, sẽ sống lại trước hết.)
> Jesus will not send an angel, or a spirit, or secretly; but He will return visibly Himself and all eyes can see Him. (Chúa Giê-xu sẽ không sai thiên sứ đến, một thần linh, hay kín dấu; nhưng chính Ngài sẽ hiện hình thể đến trên mây và mọi mắt sẽ thấy.)
# Remember in Acts 1:11, what did an angel say to the disciples watching Jesus ascending into heaven? “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Trong Công Vụ 1:11, thiên sứ của Chúa phán gì cùng các môn đồ? “Hỡi người Ga-li-lê, sao các ngươi đứng ngóng lên trời làm chi? 4) There will be a great separation when Jesus returns. (Sẽ có sự phân rẽ toàn cầu khi Chúa trở lại.)
a) The saints and true church will be separated from the world. (Các thánh đồ và Hội Thánh Chúa sẽ được Ngài phân rẽ ra khỏi thế gian.)
# While on earth, Jesus already taught many parables about this separation. (Có nhiều ẩn dụ Chúa Giê-xu đã dạy về sự phân rẽ này.)
a) The parable of the goats and sheep in Matthew 25:31-46. (Ẩn dụ Chúa sẽ chia ra dê và chiên có chép trong Mathiơ 25:31-46)
b) The parable of weeds and wheat in Matthew 13:36-43. (Ẩn dụ người chủ sẽ phân ra cỏ lùng và lúa mì trong Mathiơ 13:36-43.)
b) The parable of wise and foolish bridemaids in Matthew 25:1-13. (Ẩn dụ về 5 người nữ phù dâu khôn được vào ăn tiệc còn 5 phù dâu dại bị ở bên ngoài trong Mathiơ 25:1-13.)
# NOT everyone will be separated to meet the Lord Jesus in the clouds; but only those who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb. (Không phải mọi người ai cũng được phân ra để gặp Chúa trên mây; nhưng chỉ những ai đã được rửa sạch tội bởi huyết của Chiên Con ĐCT.)
# Don’t be surprised that NOT everyone goes to church & have their church membership will be raptured to meet the Lord Jesus; only those whose names are written on the Book of Life, because they have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. (Đừng ngạc nhiên là không phải hết thảy mọi người đi nhà thờ đều là sẽ được cất lên ở cùng Chúa; nhưng chỉ những ai có tên trong sách sự sống vì họ đã tin nhận danh Chúa Giê-xu.)
> The Bible said two men are working in the field; one will be taken up and the other left behind as said in Matthew 24:40-41 – “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.” (Trong Mathiơ 24:40-41 chép không phải ai cũng được cất lên mây gặp Chúa hết, nhưng "một người được đem đi, còn một người thì bị ở lại.")

5) There will be a great transformation. (Không phải có sự phân rẽ lớn mà thôi, nhưng còn sự biến hóa lạ lùng và mầu nhiệm mà từ trước đến bây giờ chưa bao giờ xẩy ra.)
> First to those saints who are already slept, meaning Christians that haved died, then to those who are still alive - They will all be raptured, meaning to be lifted into the air to meet the Savior and Lord Jesus. (Trước hết cho những thánh đồ đã ngủ, nghĩa là chết rồi, sau đó là những người tin Chúa còn sống, cả 2 đều sẽ được cất lên không trung mà gặp Cứu Chúa Giê-xu.)
> This will be an amazing transformation that even perfect science cannot explain. (Đây là sự biến hóa mầu nhiệm mà tất cả khoa học không thể giải thích được.)
> But this is what the Bible already promised in 1 John 3:2 – “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (Nhưng đây đã được hứa trong Kinh Thánh 1 Giăng 3:2 rồi – “Hỡi kẻ rất yêu dấu, chính lúc bây giờ chúng ta là con cái Đức Chúa Trời, còn về sự chúng ta sẽ ra thể nào, thì điều đó chưa được bày tỏ. Chúng ta biết rằng khi Ngài hiện đến, chúng ta sẽ giống như Ngài, vì sẽ thấy Ngài như vốn có thật vậy.)
> When we say “we shall be like Jesus,” meaning that we will be transformed to a new glorious body just as after Jesus was raised from the dead, that nothing can ever constrained us anymore, even the law of gravity. (Khi Kinh Thánh nói “chúng ta sẽ giống như Chúa,” nghĩa là c/ta sẽ được biến hóa với một thân thể lạ lùng như Chúa Giê-xu sau khi Ngài sống lại, mà không có điều gì còn cản ngăn c/ta được nữa, kể cả sức hút của trái đất.)
6) All the saints will be with the Lord Jesus forever; and the rest of the world will be left behind to enter the great tribulation. (Tất cả thánh đồ sẽ được ở với Chúa mãi mãi; những người còn ở thế gian sẽ bị ở lại để bước vào thời kỳ hoạn nạn lớn.)
IV. What is Your Choice?
> So what is your choice? (Như vây bạn sẽ có sự chọn lựa nào?)
1) Would you keep on rejecting Jesus and be left behind? (Bạn có sẽ từ chối Chúa Giê-xu và bị bỏ lại không?)
> Choose Jesus Christ today, place your faith in Him, so your name is written in the Book of life. (Như vậy mong bạn sẽ tin nhận Chúa Giê-xu hôm nay để tên của bạn có trong sách của sự sống.)
> Do not procrastinate, do not delay; your salvation is today. (Đừng trì hoãn nữa, ngày cứu rỗi cho bạn chính là hôm nay.)
2) For Christians, we should be joyful with the expectation of Jesus’ return. (Còn cho con cái Chúa, c/ta phải vui mừng trông đợi Chúa Giáng Sinh Giê-xu trở lại.)
> We should celebrate this Christmas with an excitment of waiting for Jesus comes again. (C/ta mừng đại lễ Giáng Sinh với sự hớn hở chờ đón Chúa sẽ trở lại.)
> We should have the same attitude as the apostle John who wrote and ended his book of Revelation with an expectation as (Revelation 22:20) – “Maranatha” meaning “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” (C/ta phải có thái độ trông đợi như sứ đồ Giăng ngày xưa, sau khi viết xong sách tiên tri Khải Huyền thì có thốt lên lời trông mong như sau: “Đấng (Chúa Giê-xu) làm chứng cho những điều ấy, phán rằng: Phải, Ta đến mau chóng. A-men, lạy Đức Chúa Jêsus, xin hãy đến!”)

# Don’t have the same attitude of “don’t care or business as usual” as of the time of Noah before the great flood came, “… people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away.” (Đừng có thái độ giống như - Trong đời Nô-ê thể nào, khi Con người đến cũng thể ấy. # In 2011, there was a massive Tsunami in the northeast coast of Japan, some people lives were spared because they heed the warning to seek higher ground; but almost 16,000 people just shrugged off the alerts and were swept by the current.

Waiting for the Return of King Jesus
1 Thessalonica 4:13-18
“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore, encourage one another with these words.”
December is here. It reminds us the most joyful holiday of the year – Christmas. But the sad thing is that many people celebrate Christmas but they don’t understand its true meaning. They only focus on shopping and buying gifts, opportunities to get good deals, feasting, decorations, watching football… We need to make sure that we understand the true meaning of Christmas. It is the celebration of the beginning of God’s plan of salvation given to mankind, as foretold in the Old Testament prophecies many years before. Christmas is connected with the first prophecy mentioned and fulfilled in Genesis 3:14-15 after Adam & Eve sinned – “So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” The offspring of the woman here was about a Savior, Who would be born to save the world from the consequence and punishment of sins. He came to bring the reconciliation between sinful men and holy God. Over 4,000 years and at the right time, a virgin named Mary gave birth to a son; He was called the Son of God, the Savior of the world. The birthday of that born Child later became Christ-mas day tradition, because His name was called Jesus Christ. So, Christmas is the celebration of the birthday of the Savior of the world.
But Christmas is MORE than the birthday of Jesus. The full meaning of Christmas should also include His mission to this world; and that mission was that Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins, raised from the death, and ascended to heaven. Christmas reminds the purpose of His birth was not to live, but to die on the cross, redeeming us – setting us free from the power of sins and reconciliating us back to God. We must recognize that Christmas is a past event, happened once and never occurred again. And we cannot just hold on to the past; But we need to look forward in the future for His promise to come back the second time, and to give the eternal inheritance of God’s heavenly kingdom to those who believe. As much joy we celebrate Christmas (which is a past event) each year, there must be much more joy that we should have to wait for the Lord’s return – the coming and greater event.
An important question that we need to know, so our joy can be completed is “When will Jesus return?” First, we know that Jesus promised of His return in John 14:1-3. Christians wait for Jesus’ return because He Himself promised that and Jesus cannot lie. Although, Jesus promised of His return, but no one would know the day or the hour. But there will be signs on earth and in heaven leading to the end of time: 1) The first sign already fulfilled was about the “fig tree” as said in Matthew 24:32. The tender twigs of the fig tree represents the independence of Jewish nation occurred in 1948, after more than 2,000 years of their lost identity. 2) The second sign is the rise of false prophets and false christs who will appear with many great signs, as mentioned in Matthew 24:4-5. 3) Wars, pestilences and great distress will come, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be equaled again, as said in Matthew 24:6-8/21. 4) Great persecutions will happen near the end time; and at the same time, many Christians’ heart for the Lord grow cold, as said in Matthew 24:9-10. 5) In Matthew 24:14, Jesus mentioned another important sign – “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” 6) Not just on earth, but there will also be signs from heaven, as said in Matthew 24:29-30.
What happen to the moment when Jesus returns the second time? 1) Jesus’ return will happen suddenly and unexpectedly. When Jesus comes again, there will be no e-mail or text sent ahead, just a loud trumpet sound. In 1 Thesalonica 5:2 the apostle Paul compared this sudden appearance of Jesus liked a thieft in the night. 2) Jesus’ return will happen quickly and there is no more time to prepare. You will not have any time to search the Bible, call the pastor, or seek for counseling any more. 3) Jesus Himself will appear in the clouds. He will not send an angel, or a spirit; but He will return visibly Himself and all eyes can see Him, the same way He went into heaven. 4) There will be a worldwide separation when Jesus returns. The saints and true church will be separated from the world. NOT everyone will be separated to meet the Lord Jesus in the clouds; but only those who have been washed in the blood of the Lamb. Don’t be surprised that NOT everyone goes to church & has their church membership will be raptured to meet the Lord Jesus; only those whose names are written on the Book of Life. NOT every religious people will be lifted up; but only those who have humbled themselves and repented their sins before the Lord. 5) There will also be a great transformation. First to those saints who are already slept, meaning Christians that haved died, then to those who are still alive - They will all be raptured, meaning to be lifted into the air to meet the Savior and Lord Jesus. This will be an amazing transformation that even perfect science of gravity cannot explain. But this is what the Bible already promised in 1 John 3:2. And 6) All the saints will be with the Lord Jesus forever; and the rest of the world will be left behind to enter the great tribulation.
So what is your choice? Would you reject Jesus and be left behind? Choose Jesus Christ today, place your faith in Him so your name is written in the Book of life. Do not procrastinate, do not delay; your salvation is today. For Christians, we should be joyful with the expectation of Jesus’ return.
